My money is on Ashley and co trying to appoint Shearer to appease the fans - don't think he'd take and even if he did I'd still be too fucking mad to care. Keegan's gone and with it a fair bit of my faith in both football, and Newcastle United FC.

I can't understand the people crying we didn't spend the 'Milner' money. That had nothing to do with the transfer fund we had, we've got money just not the targets to spend it on who'll improve the club. Let's go out and spend £12m on Ben Thatcher, and another £15m on Lee Cattermole - that'll make things better yeah? Just support your club which IS moving in the right direction.

If Keegan's gone because Ashley's been listening to some of the mong fans we've got (I dread to think the actual percentage of Newcastle fans this is, but after the reaction to signings last night I'd say fairly bloody high) then it's a complete joke. Everytime we head in the right direction someone presses the self-destruct button and it all blows up in our face. Then again, knowing the press agenda against us, this is just as likely to be utter rot swilled up by the press because they can't talk about a rich sheik taking us over any more - because he did so at City without the press getting a sniff of it.

He is a dreadful player considering his reputation, pace a couple of tricks and absolutely nothing else. I'd rather we went out and signed Keith Gillispie. Would be very very very very very worried if we did sign him.

Don't know if anyone has seen the full press conference from today on NUFC.tv but Keegan sounds so positive right now and continually backs his board. I've got nothing but respect for the man, I really think he is miles and miles ahead of some of the shocking managers we've had in the recent past so long let it continue. I just can't wait until this transfer window closes so we can get back to speculating about when Ashley is selling up....oh. Seriously though, total and utter faith right now in Keegan and the club. Didn't take a couple of decent results for this 'kneejerk' reaction, it just seems to me the club is very much being run in the right way and heading in the right direction.

In fairness if you were married to such a bitch as she sounds, you'd be in rehab too.

Don't forget Donaldson is very highly rated, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes an appearance if we don't get anyone in in-between now and players returning.

Lennon is just a sprinter who plays a bit of football. Technically he's terrible, less end product than Milner. I'd not pay £10 for Lennon, nevermind £10m. 100% spot on.

Got to have a replacement lined up and relatively quick. Fair enough we're not short with wingers, but even so the squad is getting tighter and tighter. Seeing as KK and Ashley were so adamant he wasn't leaving before, maybe Ashley will be much more tempted to invest heavily into a transfer to please both of them and the fans. Haven't got long to wait and see.

Sebastien Pocognoli was fantastic on FM07, not so great on FM08...who knows on FM09!

I personally thought Coccolini would end up playing in the holding role in CM, perhaps even dictating tempo which could be someone considered a 'playmaker.' Probably bollocks though, but hey-ho, we're all having fun speculating.

Given Beye Coloccini Taylor Enrique Guthrie Jonas Duff Owen Viduka Martins N'Zogbia and Faye pushing hard for first-team spots in that one - could also move Faye, Butt or Coloccini into CM. To be honest, a lot of it will depend on form, which is why Duff is in there for now. Could all change mind.

Aaron Lennon and probably Lee Dixon. Lennon for being one of the most over-rated players of the last few years, only in very recent times has he been 'found out' as a quick player with a few tricks and absolutely nothing else. Lee Dixon for hacking Ginola to pieces in a Carling Cup (I think Quarter final) match, where I believe Ginola was sent off, one of the bookings coming for a dive when Dixon clearly took him out.
