  1. Probably the space for them, but the developer is building 'riverside apartments' and already has planning approval for that location. Unlikely to want to 'swap', and then wait for goodness knows how many years before he can eventually start building. Nothing is impossible, but . . .
  2. If that gets built, there would not be enough room for a football stadium, as the only space left would be the footprint of the actual current Arena. The 1,100 homes would have been built on the site to the right of the Arena in this photo . . .
  3. The empty site shown in my earlier post, next to (to the south of) the current Arena, has just had planning approval for these 1,100 homes and a hotel . . .
  4. Gosh !!! London football club over-praised by the London Media . . . shock !
  5. This photo shows how much space there is in and around the Newcastle Arena Site, which will become available after the Arena moves to the new NewcastleGateshead Quays Arena Site . . . Here is what a new NUFC Stadium could look like after construction on the above site . . .
  6. It is bad grammar as written like that it does not reflect reality as we know it now to be. If you wished to be accurate, rather than making 'a point' for some reason, instead of writing "TBF we are a regular relegation candidate" you would have automatically written "TBF we have been a regular relegation candidate". That's all I'm saying - accuracy.
  7. Good grief, how wrong does that sound, using the 'present tense' in that way.
  8. That is my reply to Scoot, who was talking about Stanley, which is the UK town located at the highest point above sea level of any sizeable UK settlement. Consequently it gets a very different climate, particularly in winter, to other 'towns' in the UK.
  9. Yes, a 'unique' high place, I think it is the highest town in the UK. A VERY different climate!!
  10. Snow? What is that? Snow is so very rare in Newcastle these days, been the same for many years.
  11. This statement does not seem to 'fit' with my understanding of our new owners - at all !
  12. If your criteria is "within the city boundaries" then that is a very large area that gives them a lot of scope. Somewhere near Newcastle Racecourse at Gosforth Park (for example) would be a relatively easy one to sort out, I would imagine. Myself, I still prefer the City Centre.
  13. The so-called "Big Six" is a Sky-TV invention - that has now gained hold generally. Sky care mainly about their viewing figures, and so - of course - they had to include a number of London-based clubs within their invented list, even if (like Spurs particularly) they do not win trophies. It is a meaningless grouping, and the sooner its use is consigned to history, the better.
  14. It's interesting to speculate about the stadium, but however they alter and extend it, the one thing I think they will definitely do is to put a retractable roof on it. It would be a big job, but I am certain that idea will appeal to them. It opens up quite a few other year-round uses for the stadium as well. This is just my personal thoughts on this!
  15. . . and the day after . . and the day after !!! Perpetual 'happy times' ahead for us, it'll take a while to get there, but after that !

Seriously. As a compassionate human being, is there anyone on here with medical experience? Can you please recommend somewhere that these 'RTG' people could be referred to - for their own good - before it is too late? Perhaps the Samaritans, as I can see a flood of potential suicides on there, I really can. Seriously. (No, not really !!!) https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/

This is really a very enjoyable read, from start to finish . . . https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/could-we-lose-a-generation-of-supporters-to-the-mags.1572008/

Those are two very different things, I cannot think of a more different situation than those two!! No comparison at all.
  19. Yes, I agree - that was F U N !!!!
  20. I have never been 'optimistic' in my life, I'm just not built that way. I remain realistic, as always. But yes, we do have to W A I T for a couple more days!!!

  22. Fantastic idea to go over to Saudi for the last week of the transfer window. Amanda can now speak with the people who matter at P I F, face to face, makes things so much easier and so much quicker. Expect "dynamite" as we get towards the last few days of the window . . . absolute D Y N A M I T E !!!!!
  23. Best place for constant rumours . . . https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier+League/Newcastle+United
