  1. TBF, you don't see many Asians at football full stop. At Watford, I see a few but considering the large Muslim/Pakistani community near Vicarage Road, you see none of them there. They all support big clubs, but don't attend. Why is this though?
  2. Not really the point. If it costs them promotion, Watford will lose out on a lot more than the £5m they got for him. The point I was trying to make is they would have offloaded him in January anyway had he got them promoted, as his performances in this league have been nothing short of woeful. If they miss out it's because Bothroyd is currently playing Steve Kabba ahead of Collins John. John has looked woeful for us, he runs a bit but looks like a headless chicken without posing any real threat to the opposition's goal whatsoever, been really disappointing so far.
  3. He was on £25k a week with us, with the promise of £40k if we were promoted as well.
  4. Because the money-grabbing cunt wanted £40,000 a week and wasn't looking arsed to do anything for us. Selfish wanker.
  5. I still think that if we go up this time, we'll have a better chance of staying up and will finish above Stoke/Hull/Brizzle if they come up. We have the experience of the Premier League, Aidy will have a slightly bigger budget and has been slowly bringing in more technical players such as Bromby and Eustace. Williams and Francis haven't featured much this season due to injury, but I think that one of them alongside John Eustace would be fantastic. Of course, we'd need a new right-back and a quality striker plus some more competition on the wings, but I think our squad fully fit plus a few well picked additions would be able to at least fight well against relegation and maybe, just maybe stay up. If only we could sign Adam Johnson permanently.
  6. BTW, here's my take on it. Bristol City have been consistent so far this season, good football with an average bunch of players who've had a great footballing ethic instilled into them by who is to me manager of the season. However, of late they've been awful (were crap against us and Southampton on Saturday), I can't see them going up automatically, not with us WBA, Stoke and Hull breathing down their necks. WBA are a good footballing side, despite being a bunch of utter twats. They play football the right way however they're very inconsistent, much like the rest of the division and for some reason I can't see them going up, in fact I'd say it's a toss up between us and them for an automatic spot all depending upon our game against them at the Hawthorns. Hull look like us when we were promoted, in your face, first to everything with that real will to win. It's nice to see, but not nice when you're thrashed by them. I've run a predictor on this and have them finishing one point off of the automatic spots, but they can and will make a late charge to it and are the only in-form side out of the top 5. However, they're not a really youthful side, with Okocha and Windass playing big roles for them, I can see them both struggling in the Premier League as well as them not keeping Frazier Campbell. I still think they'll sneak it. Stoke are awful, no doubt about that. We outplayed them with 10 men and let's face it, we've been poor all season despite somehow having stayed up there all season. Without Liam Lawrence playing Stoke are woeful and everything goes through him. They're not even very good however they have a relatively easy run-in and I can see them clinging onto an automatic spot, unfortunately. An absolute parasite on the game they are, their loutish fans, hellish home and dreadful players. Us. Well, I'm not particularly confident, seeing as we've thrown away the title really, having been 9 points clear at the top of the table in October. We've won about 1 in 12 games, with 10 draws in that (I think) which is really disgustingly bad. The loss of John Eustace and Darius Henderson to suspensions recently were hard on us, especially as Eustace didn't deserve his sending off (you cunt Styles) however we have three home games, all of which are winnable (however it's us and well we don't win at home) and a tricky trip to the Hawthorns as well as a final day trip to Bloomfield Road and Blackpool. I can see us doing it if we win our home games, which is unlikely but after we managed to win there on Saturday, I can see it happening. My predictions, automatic: Watford, Stoke playoffs: Hull or West Brom.
  7. It's nothing like that at all. It's kick ball long, elbow player whilst in the air, lose header, moan at Ellington.
  8. The real big game is Watford vs Coventry, bound to be a 0-0 thriller, either that or Coventry nick it at the death.

    Overweight XI

Tom Huddlestone. Also, in the case of Rooney and Lampard, they're hardly really toned + athletic at the moment and considering what they do for a living involves 4/5 hours of running around each day, imagine how fat they'd be if they didn't do this and just sat around. Fat as fuck.

Did exactly the same f****** thing with us vs Stoke. Giving a penalty to make up for a s*** sending off, c***. Unlucky today mate Luck had nothing to do with it. I'm expecting from now on: us to just about remain in a play-off spot. Lose in play-off semi-final to a team that wants it more. Sell Dan Shittu, Jay DeMerit and possibly others in the summer as they seek higher levels of football. Sink into mid-table obscurity. Depressing really, considering our start to the season.

  12. Here are mine: Watford vs Bolton (Wembley May 1999) 38 minutes on the clock, Watford have a corner. Kennedy takes it and the ball is cleared by a Bolton defender over Nick Wright's head, he speculates with an overambitious over-head kick that loops into the top corner. 7 years old and Wembley goes wild, I can remember the moment vivid as life to this day. Unbelievable. The next favourite moment was in the same game, nerves started to creep into the crowd around as the last few minutes beckoned with Bolton attacking. Suddenly Watford launch a counter-attack with Kennedy breaking down the left hand side with Allan Smart arriving in the middle, one ball across and a first time shot from Smart that slammed into the bottom corner. Yes, yes, yes! The moments after the final whistle were... wow, tbh. Fast-forward seven years, having been relegated the season after despite wins against Chelsea and Liverpool. Other notable events had taken place in the meantime, an FA Cup semi-final, two satisfying league cup victories against Southampton and Portsmouth, 5-2 and 3-0 respectively led to us taking on Liverpool in the semi-final with us bowing out having fought bravely. Despite all this we had been struggling, following the collapse of ITV Sport and the perilous effects of that parasite Vialli and his overspending we managed to consolidate battling fiercely against relegation with an excellent Helguson goal away at Crewe ensuring survival. Anyway, we'd appointed Boothroyd and survival was the main goal. The season that followed was amazing and culminated in one of the greatest footballing moments of my life. Shaun Derry brings down Marlon King inside the box at the Millenium Stadium, Watford 2-0 up with 5 minutes left in the game, a penalty is awarded. Up steps Darius Henderson to coolly slot a penalty past Leeds goalkeeper Neil Sullivan. That moment was amazing, 3-0 up and the Premiership beckons. Another moment of mine, less significant than the other three happened this season. It didn't take place in the Premiership season that followed the excellent promotion campaign, it wasn't the FA Cup semi-final against Man United, nor the 4-2 drubbing against Portsmouth although the Gavin Mahon (!) screamer to put us 4-1 up in that game was sensational. September 16th, Sunday lunchtime kick-off against Southampton, it's 2-2 with little or no time left. Darius Henderson, having scored a dramatic equaliser just minutes earlier was to step up to the plate again. A corner was curled into the box then bobble around, with the Southampton defence unable to clear, nor a yellow shirt able to stick it in the back of the net. A few micro-seconds of sheer frustration until this was all converted into euphoria as Darius Henderson turned to chip the ball over Southampton 'keeper Kelvin Davis to put Watford into the lead in the last seconds of the game. I'm not sure why, but I absolutely savoured every second of that moment. It was great, albeit fairly insignificant. What are your favourite? personal footballing moments

You made a big mistake selling Marlon King IMO. We have no quality up front or on the wings. McAnuff is fast, can't cross, can't shoot. Wow. Smith is skilful but can't cross and finishes when you least expect him to, but misses when it's easy. Priskin is shit. Ellington is shit. Kabba is shit. Henderson is amazing but shit. I absolutely despise football atm. We need the likes of Young and King, quality players to mix in with the solid backbone we have. FFS. I watched Priskin against Pompey last season (live) and he looked the part, was very impressed. That was (as far as I can remember apart from the abandoned Wigan game) his only good performance for us. Oh my, that game was amazing. GAVIN MAHON!

Fuck football. What a fucking disappointment. Thrown this shit away too many times, no we're consigned to our fate in the play-offs, getting embarassed home and away. What a shit season. We've lost everything we had the first time we got up. Back then we were big powerful skilful and hungry. No we're just big and powerful. Fucking average. Fuck it.

I'm shit-scared ahead of today's fixture at Hull. Lose and it's play-offs for us, draw and we remain in limbo, win and I'm confident of automatic. I wish I had gone now.
  19. Won't be saying that when Shola fires em up lad, at Watfords expense. :knowing wink: Stoke are absolute turd though, without Lawrence in the side they are terrible. Even if they had Cristiano Ronaldo, they still wouldn't finish in the automatic spots.
