That'd be benefit fraud.

The thing I don't get is why can't we just tell Shay that if he wants to leave then fair enough, just wait until the Summer so he can help us maintain top flight status. Oh and apparently David Craig, the North East Oracle has spoken.

Apparently, despite being famous for running away, the French are some of the best fighters that you'd want on your side in a war. I can't remember where I saw this little snippet or the details of it though, and it's really bugging me. Sure I saw it on a documentary/programme recently.

Is this onion muncher here yet or what?

Sibierski was FRENCH?! No, no this doesn't add up at all.

Butt has a clause in his contract that says he can extend his contract if he plays a certain amount of games this season. Which he has. -
Probably because he sees exactly what Shay sees. Oh come on we are not that bad, don't be mellow dramatic. We have the players to survive. But as is always with this board, its not a case of is the glass Half full or Empty, we've not even got a f***ing glass man. Most games are ticked off as loses, with people just piling more misery on if we lose. In every league season there are surprise results, Pompey 3-0 anyone? For all we know we could nick 6 points this week in two scrappy 1-0's, but we could also lose 4-0 in both and come out with 0 points. So why bother being all doom and gloom, why not try supporting the team? I've seen worse XI's than this do better, so there is no real reason to be getting suicidal. Even if we go down, at least we have a Football club, look at Leeds losing to Histon in the cup, seen more players come and go than you can remember, they might as well print shirt names on velcro. I think the fact that Harper hasn't signed the new contract by now is hugely significant considering Shay has virtually asked to leave. I like harper, but he's been happy to play back-up to Shay for years and if he decides to leave just when it looks like he's going to get his chance, then you have to seriously question his ambition and self belief. Maybe his new contract offer is poor or maybe he's sick of being at a club that goes from one disaster to the other.

Probably because he sees exactly what Shay sees. Oh come on we are not that bad, don't be mellow dramatic. Be careful Nixon, he might just take the flump if you disagree with him. Or it could snowball into a huge argument! On the other hand you could be (pink and) white. My sincerest apologies *Melodramatic. I forgot you are bereft of spelling mistakes. We aren't training to be journalists You do know, that no article goes from PC to print without being checked by about 2-3 people? And this is purely for fun, if it was work I'd read with some care. This forum feels like work at times.

Essentially a new team. -
Don't have any expectations if I was you. I'm not expecting him to be good or bad, just another body to be honest. Since he hasn't actually played for a while none of us could really say. If he still has pace and is able to use it that'd be a massive bonus on all accounts.
-
2-0 now. Tut.
-
1-0 West Ham
-
Harper can.
-
In the defence of Jonas it'd help someone would actually support him when he tracks back to defend, gets the ball and then proceeds to bomb down the wing with the ball. The other players either don't have the legs or just don't care. The players cared in the first game of the season and the result and effort put in shows that. It was also one of his better games, if not his best for us.
-
Yeah but isn't the a law or a rule that means that games can't be televised with a 3pm kickoff? Something that incidentally doesn't apply abroad, hence the likes of en vivo streams with the commentators singing after every goal. ...Apparently.

Wonder if they have to pay for a bottle of lucozade.

As much as I hate Allardyce, he makes a good point about Arsenal and their youth policy in the cups. The idea that you have to play your 'strongest XI' no matter what is stupid. How else are you meant to introduce youngsters to the game? In the league which is pretty much top priority for every team? On your bike, FA.

Freeview, baby!

Southampton's youngsters are doing a great job of getting them out of the championship, shame it's to league 1. Premiership survival must the number 1 priority at this time Yet again it all goes down to a lack of communication from the club. From the interviews that I've read it seems that the managers answer to him, like when Keegan was talking about Zayate. It's a shame, because like you said the youth policy is much better than it has been in recent years. -

Stupid thing is that this is what we were told their job was in the first place but then it seems that they started pricking about with the first XI. Being honest and showing clarity at the beginning could have saved a whole lot of fuss really. -
I don't know why I feel so good about this move, maybe because he's the first (only?) one for this window or maybe because he didn't cost anything so if he flops won't be around for next season.. Either way, hope he does well. We're really lacking in pace. Central midfield now, please.
-
And another thing, the TV companies hardly seem bothered when they fuck up peoples plans by changing the televised matches last minute. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's booked train tickets to go see a match or booked a day off work only for these wankers to change the kick off times/days. They can fuck off the lot of them.
-
Maybe if clubs didn't charge an arm and a leg for tickets and channels like Setanta didn't make fixtures painful to watch for an unreasonable fee more people would actually attend the games. I imagine teams like Blackburn are just chuffed that somebody is watching them at all to be fair.
