Nothing to lose here, the lads are expected to lose here so should really go for it. Attack from the off, pass the ball around like we know we can and take the game to them like we did in the Manyoo and Arse matches. Will be happy with a draw, but still think we have the quality to win this one if we approach the game in the right way.

They clearly know how bad we've been but willing to accept they're worse! We could break a few season hoodoos tomorrow. The concensus of opinion is even though its a first game in b&w for a few players, we've got the quality to top them. Nice to see a bit of jealousy around Sissoko and Cabaye, cementing the fact they're class! Could be easy or it could be scrappy but they'll wear down one way or another and we should win.

Can only be two viable explanations for me, either a) he's just not good enough/lacks any kind of motivation b) the rumours of us having to pay appearance premium are true. Either way it didn't work out and good luck to him, waste of a shirt number and £50k a week. The last remnant of what was wrong with this club in the inflated prices/stupid wages era.

Looking at his style of play, I think he will adapt quickly, we'd be foolish not to start him at Villa. As was mentioned, I can't see him doing a worse job than say Perch or Jonas. I think we'll see him start with MYM and Goofy.

From what I've seen a lot better. Phillips was pace/movement. Ince is that + ability on the ball. Heard he's a bit lightweight and has no special quality though. From the few games I've watched him play in down here in Blackpool, he's been hands down the best player in tangerine, most of the decent play goes through him. Yes he needs to bulk up a bit but he's young and with facilities and training regimes in the premiership should be able to make the step up. Yes he's a risk, but so is any young player. If someone doesn't come in for him now, if/when he is on a free I think he'll have the pick of where he wants to go in the summer. A LOT of teams have been watching him at Bloomfield road. If I had to choose though, we only had the money for one player, it would be PEA because he's something we need right now, especially if Cisse doesn't find his scoring boots and fast!

Still pinching myself on this one, out of all we've bought I can't wait for Sissoko to settle in, he's an absolute powerhouse, fast, skilful and has a deadball shot on him Shearer would be proud of.

Reading are picking up some kind of form at the right time, qpr are just hideous and Norwich don't look good enough to stay up. We just need a couple of good results to pull away from the dross below us.

You have taken my words and said them in my place. We've picked up 8 points in fourteen matches since the middle of November. If lose the next match, Aston -25 goal differential Villa will overtake us. Everyone should calm down. But that's a big if, they've really hit rock bottom and we should be buoyed going into this match with our new signings and more importantly, Williamson nowhere near the team. I think we have every right to be confident going into this game, albeit with a modicum of caution.
