  1. Everton, for me, was the toughest test on paper for the games left in 2023, I think we have a great chance at a win and would settle for a draw. As others have previously said, their style of play will suit us more, they won't sit deep and they'll try and keep a high line and play the ball across the grass. Gordon, Almiron and Isak will have space to run into. We just have to take our chances.
  2. I think as a fan base we can be a tad emotionally reactive to poor performances, myself included in that. We'll have more games like that and we'll have lots more games like the Arsenal/Chelsea/Man Utd ones. It's not worth dwelling on, I know the team won't be, learn from it, be better next time. It'll all be forgotten when we beat Spurs anyway. Yes tiredness takes its toll mentally and physically, no that's not linear and doesn't mean this is us until we get players back, we could win all 4 this calendar year, we could lose to Luton or Forest on the back of another lacklustre display. I'll worry when we start dropping down the table, for now we're doing fine.
  3. Not worth crying over, we've played a lot of football with the same 11 players, physically and mentally it can't be easy on them, it is problematic that our away form has been, on the whole, pretty horrendous though. Spurs away next doesn't bode well for us either. We're literally limping to January at this point, got some players coming back before then and hopefully some recruits to give our core players a breather. We've finished strong under Howe every season so I think we'll still be there or there abouts come May.
  4. My days, we've been woeful, TV going off now!
  5. Problematic pattern in our away performances, doesn't seem to matter when we last played, if we're at home the next game we look unreal, away we look forlorn, lacking ideas and unfocussed. Hopefully we come out in the 2nd half and start to turn the screw because we can and should beat these.
  6. This ref knows he's the one that has the cards in his pocket, right??

They've won 2 in 9 and lost to some poor sides, hardly a shock definitely seems to have been spurred on by the cup announcement ?‍♂️

    Nick Pope

We'll be fine with Dubz and Karius, De Gea is finished at this level.
  9. Saw Dummet retweet the announcement by the official account and every post underneath was "drill into them the importance of this one, make sure everyone knows". I just think we need to be up for a tough game of football, be ready, well drilled and treat them like any other game against lower league cloggers. We don't need anything getting in the players heads other than it's another game of football we need to win and we'll win comfortably.
  10. I don't know why so many are panicking, this is Eddie Howes nufc, forget history, forget plucky underdogs, he'll have us in the right mindset where we play the game, not the event. Easy win.
  11. I don't think anyone denies he's class, obviously an elite midfielder, but he's a petulant, rat faced, whinge bag that I wouldn't tire of punching, great player, minging human.
  12. We've got enough quality and momentum to grab all 6 from the next two games, Everton will be tough to break down but hopefully we can take an early lead and try and not flog our players too much.
  13. It wasn't the real Rashford, it was contract renewal Rashford, he only ever comes round every 2-3 years. Which, incidentally he signed after the end of last season ?
  14. They aren't brain dead, they're butt hurt and denying anything good makes them feel better that they're now behind us.
  15. Were it not for wobbly legs in the final 3rd that would have been a lot more comfortable, we dominated the midfield and it was worrying for them how much space we found between the lines and how easy it was to find someone in that space with a simple pass. However, they were pretty well organised at the back, Shaw and Maguire their stand out performers tells you that, with some quality last ditch defending at times. But who wants to watch a billion pound Burnley stink up the pitch?
  16. He probably was to be fair but it's hard to not be when everything around you is poisonous, it wasn't an overnight change for him, he didn't have a great end to last season but Howe has done some number on him! He has been immense.
  17. Well that's another of the "big 6" firmly in our pocket now. I still haven't completely come to terms with how good we actually are and I keep being pleasantly surprised, long may it continue.
  18. That was a lot more nerve racking than it should have been, the players get a pass though as they must be running on fumes after 200 minutes of football this week.
  19. Tbf the temperature out there was probably like landing on concrete for Pope
