The old offside rule was much more easy for everyone to understand. When a player from the attacking team was behind the last outfield player of the defending team when the ball is hit is offside. Easy as that, no ifs or buts. Why make the rules more complicated than they need to be? Only modern change of rule I can think of that has made a difference for the good of football is that a keeper is not alowed to take the ball with his hands when pass comes from his teammate.

I've never got my head around it. Why wait untill the transfer window opens before putting bids in? Why not do it before so the players can sign the day it opens up?

This is what's worrying me. Most of the players know that either we survive or go down most of them will be replaced in the summer. That may not make them work as hard as we need to stay up. Need to get the spine of the team in place now in january. Hopefully the game tonight will work as a motivator to the players for the upcoming games.

IF that's the rule, Schars goal must stand aswell. Their keeper touches the ball before it reaches Schar and should be allowed. It's the same scenario. Is there anyone in the world of football who knows the rules for offside or handball theese days? Seems to change every season and I'm not sure the referees really knows what's right anymore. Not to mention VAR, who seems like the biggest lottery of them all. There are no guidelines or rules for what's a penalty, what's a foul or how handball or offside works out. Different takings of the same situations all the time.

Can't be doing this one signing at the time. Need to work on several deals at the same time. There are many players we need to get signed to turn this around.

I'd make 10 players for the starting eleven an absolute priority now. Just keep Trippier.

Then I wonder, if a team has sold a player after the game is postponed. Is it ok to take him back for one game when the game is re-arranged? Would Hassenhüttl and Moyes (if it was the case) let their new top signing, from a rival club, leave to play a game for the rival club against their own club? It's a scenario that could happen. And where should the line be drawn. It' always some clubs that will gain and some who would lose.
