Well that cheered me up no end. It's not meant to cheer you up. It's the stark reality. I want to keep him but I can see him trying to force the move through unfortunately. -

He'll be burnt out and probably carrying another injury while playing for us by the time the WC comes around. -

Roma prepared to spunk up to £10m on him http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/10484256.Roma_poised_to_make_big_money_bid_for_Cabaye/ Can see him wanting to go and work with Garcia again, tbh. Has to be better than freezing your tits off in the NE wasting your time under Pardew, especially in the World Cup year. -
In effect he's only got Taylor and Colo ahead of him as I can see the tactical magician we call our manager using Mapou as a full-back quite a bit next season.

is the stupid cunt packing twitter in?

Just tweeted the link to ThreatLevel. He'll have a field day.

is he the thick market stall lad in Amelie? Hard to tell from that photo but there's a similarity.
-
Obviously it's only meant to be him at the minute. But with the story gathering pace it would be very interesting if all our other Muslim players also took Cisse's stand.

an unimpressed mackem mate has just sent me this. Their new away top apparently. http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/8392/screenshot20130612at205.png

He plays in a league sponsored by a bank, plays against teams with betting and gambling sponsors, has a huge drinking culture associated with it, has its kits made in sweat shops by the poor and flogged to the masses for 50-60 quid a pop. You play football in england, take the wage, then you gotta accept it f***ing wreaks to high heaven of s***. I like how 'bank' has been turned into a dirty business Also, don't think what other teams wear has any impact on his convictions over what he personally does/wears/promotes. Same goes for the drinking culture. I don't especially care one way or another mind you, I'm just fake-arguing for the sake of it He does shisha which I don't think is in line with Islamic beliefs, just for balance is it not?! First time I ever saw shisha pipes was in Tunisia, which is a predominantly Arabic country. Last cafe I visited was ran by a Moroccan too.

£35m in the bank and 12 months later and all we ever brought in to cover that was Cisse though. We were forced into flogging Ba who was getting most of our goals and signed Gouffran, who isn't much above average. By all means refuse to cave in to his demands and send him to Russia for £20m but I think we'd end up regretting it.
-
You think we'd sign an adequate replacement for Cisse? Bent isn't one.
-
and on the f***ing shirt Be great to see the Cisse supporters on this matter turn quicker than milk in the Sahara. Imagine the compromise is sports direct on Cisse's shirt and wonga on the rest, all down to Cisse. SD on the top or flog Cisse (and more than likely not replace him)? SD on the shirt. Every time.
-
Probably not as straightforward as that with regards to the contract. Meh. Fuck them. I'd rather we backed our main striker over that lot regardless.
-
why the fuck is everyone seemingly so anti-Cisse and pro-Wonga? Just let him wear a shirt without Wonga on it. Simple as. Winner winner chicken dinner.

same game Baggio scored his pen? EDIT: Nar it wasn't.

5 and a half-years old and you still remember? Aye. Not saying I remember every game, every player but I remember sitting with my dad and watching the odd game.
-
How can anyone also forget Jim Leighton with his moisturised eyebrows have a horror show against lowly Morocco too?
-
USA '94 is the earliest WC I remember. Was only 18 months old at the time of Italia '90. Not enough love for France '98 tbh. Probably my favourite WC to date.

absolutely absurd that we even considered offering him a new contract. Extremely surprised that it was Shola who asked for 'thinking time'. Guess it's feasible he could make a semi-decent career in the USA or somewhere for a couple of seasons. That article seems mostly bollocks though - why would he suddenly decide he wants more starts now he's 31. It never bothered him before. Shola + fight and win man at the Seattle Sounders definitely has the beginnings of a shit documentary to it.
