Well, you know. This whole weekend I’ve been thinking SAF was not totally wrong calling Newcastle a «wee club». The way the owners have handled everything since Amanda left is shocking. The first few years were amazing, then the «air» went out. Eddie is the guy that will be punished for it. But this is down to poor ownership.

This season has been a steady downward spiral which he has’t been able to turn around. The Isak thing ignited it all. And then we made several shit signings. David Hopkinson will still tell you we are on course to be the best.

Sometimes in life you get to a point where you can’t get any further. I think Eddie’s time is up soon. I can’t see how we are making progress. A disaster of a transfer window last summer, no signings this window. He’s managed to get us through the rough times before, just can’t see it happening this season.

Eddie is a great coach, but his stubborness is holding him back. Playing the same players, using the same tactics and style, will ultimately halt our progress. We can’t afford to miss on transfers, but we can’t expect to hit the jackpot every time either. To counteract this, I wished Eddie would loosen up, and adapt to what we got a bit more. After Staverly and Ashworth left, it’s gone slowly downwards (this is not on Eddie btw). I really miss the optimism, the great communication and interactions with the fans, the trangers rumours, the quick dealings, the signing out of nowhere, everything that made things buzzying the first few years
