And the wank feast has begun.

I’m in too now👍🏻

This. Modern football is totally fucked. It’s virtually impossible to challenge the elite. Newcastle have the best chance to try and break through with PIFs backing. If we fail, supporting teams outside the Elite is pointless. And winning something would be a total fluke (see Leicester).

I’m more surprised Southampton is interested when he clearly shows that money is more important than game time. I bet with a more professional behaviour he’d get a decent contract for the reminder of his career. no other EPL side will ever take him on now. Esp. With his attitude. He’s made himself Championship fodder earlier than necesssary imo. Good luck rotting in the U21….

Buy-back clause, you say?
-
How in the world did he manage to get injured whilst on vacation?
-
Is this disloyal cnut dead yet?
-
Said it before, I’ll say it again; Antonio Nusa, please!
-
Ayoze playing for Spain?! WTF
-
Probably can't deny him freedom choosing who he meets up with in his spare-time (mind he has a lot of that, like ). However it's just too obvious this guy is breaching the term og his gardening leave / contract.

Why can’t we buy Federico Chiesa, please? don’t f’ing FFP me
-
Clearly going all-out Ted Lasso here
-
Rather have Antonio Nusa tbh.
-
Please buy Antonio Nusa

I feel sorry for Matt Targett. He has been incredibly unlucky tbh. He came to us when we were broken and in desperate need, and I think he was outstanding in that loan period. Unfortunately injuries can have such a negative impact…

By which you could argue the restrains (FFP, caps, fair punishment for breaking said rule etc. ) should apply more to the so-called top-six rather than the rest tbh. I’m afraid in the long run going on like now will hurt the rep. of football rather than strengthen it. Football is more about business than sport these days, but the rules are preventning anyone from competing with the elite. And I think that the tweet, and the reponse to that, highlights this very real and serious problem.

Good post. But I have to ask; My impression is that the new owners came in with the ambition to win silverware within 5 years. Judging by your last paragraph I don’t get the feeling this will happen within 5 years or even the next decade.

Well, it does matter. Playing sides we are likely to beat, BEFORE we meet the top sides, can really build momentum.

On the back of a remarkable season 22/23, and some of the hype afterwards, I’m not particulary impressed with this season tbh. Sadly, we have been plauged with injuries and fatigue, which has made us vulnerable and inconsistent. Compared to the Ashley-era saying this is just plain stupid, but in light of the owners 5-year plan to win something we do seem a bit off-track. My biggest fear however, is witnessing how rigged and corrupt the system is when clubs outside of the «established elite» try to compete. It does seem like an impossible task. We have to get an end to that Ca$hworth-saga and move on. I’m looking forward to the new season, but I’m not as optimistic as some to a top 5 placing.

That Ashby kid not good enough to keep as backup?
-
Man City better fix this
-
He’s been plauged by injuries, man. If he signs… oh man… his inj. Record and our medical setup will make him a paralympic before kick-off come august.
-
Like fuck we should NOT get DCL. He’s the very definition of injury proness. If we should learn ANYTHING from this season is to stay fit.

Ah, Yes! I remember those days. May I spice your memory with this little gem that sprung to mind: Sylvain Marveaux
