Im not saying its right Im not saying its working My opinion is that its the aspiration of the owners to replicate a long term strategy. In the short term selling our "best" players to balance books.
-
Would it help you if i said - "aspire" to replicate arsenal/ajax model? You get the drift - we want to grow through youth/long term
-
I think we can do it going the Arsenal model - Its just not going to be overnight - its going to be 5+ seasons of hoping for top 10s until we unearth some young gems and give them a chance to breakthrough
-
we have every chance against that team
-
that assist against wolfburg in the champs league is great this guy has it - its going to be a hot and cold season for him - give him time - think he could turn a match - really think this is a great signing
-
Worth pointing out that that are now people pointing out "that there's now more people moaning about people moaning than there is people moaning."
-
Should have bid 20mill for him instead of 3mill
-
he could be a taarbat he could be a bellion im honestly think the former

Mark my words in forum folklore - Obertan is going to be a great signing - Put it in your footer - put it up in lights - I know this !
-
Join the dots: 1) We pull out from barnetta because he is 3 weeks injured.........hmmmm 2) AP was this week talking to Fergie about Twitter ala Barton row......hmmmmm Its happening
-
Out for 3 weeks? Thats not going to scupper any transfer. Thats what medicals are for. I think this is a game. Not sure how tho:P
-
agree - some just cant wait to jump on the bandwagon
-
Once this goes through we will have the best "traditional" wingers we have had in a very long time.... Fox/Gillespie?
-
Edwards too, wouldn't surprise me since all agents are attention seeking pricks If its not his agent, how does he know about the offer?
-
I think Obertan is a very good player - just needs a run of games i think. Shows flashes of brilliance coupled with long periods in the game of dross. Just really think he needs to be playing more. I would take him in a heartbeat
-
I think that a) The offer is fair and a good starting position b) I assume we have agreed a fee for the player which is positive c) The agent is a mong for coming out in the press with his comments- Barnetta is not far off those wages, and a negotiation is exactlly that - you start - you negotiate - you come to an agreement. For the agent to talk down on Newcastle like that doesnt win him any friends either
-
doesnt come in the top 10 000 players to grace the shirt tbh
-
quick - add enrique - he is cheap and should start for liverpool and increase price
-
I wonder what the Manchester city dressing room is like with Ballo/Tevez etc hating the city - blah blah blah

apologies, an idiotic post is what i should have said, i'm sure you're lovely. i fail to see what point you've proved other than that different people have different views? my point is that - im my opinion - that we live in extreme highs and extreme lows - nothing in between. I think a solid season of 8th-14th would be a good season. Next year the same. All the while we are looking for more Cabaye/Tiote/Gosling type deals. All the while improving our squad. Thats a solid plan. Realistic, and sets us up for a good push 2-3 seasons from now.
-
First off - Dont call me an idiot - else it makes sense we meet up for a chat so you can share you views in person. Secondly - Its my opinion. Yes, im generalising, but its an exageration to prove the point
-
p.s. Everton have signed 1 player on loan and lost 3 - 4 players I think this forum would implode if that happened
-
Newcastle supporters are bi-polar: Win against Kansas - We are on the up challenging for Europe Lose to Leeds - We are in a relegation Battle Sign Gosling - Bad Move He does well - Great Move Sign 4 players in quick succession - challenging for Europe Dont sign anyone in a while - we are in a relegation battle Generally win a game - Pardew great manager Lose a game - Pardew out This board is getting a bit much now - it only seems to live in the total extremes - nowhere inbetween. The year we got relegated with our supposed stars - who would have taken a mid table finish then with a club in pretty good shape? Expectations are already that we need to push for Europe? Holy crap that is deluded.

This guy is going to be a cracker of a player
