Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?

I live in a world of Ben Arfa's and Cabayes, not in a world of Nolans and Carrols, that world is reserved for Stoke -

The reason i didnt mention outgoings is because of the Carrol money argument. My point is, everyone is fixated on the amount of money, but if Cabaye cost 10mill, etc then ppl would have been happy. I really believe our expectations are being managed. More players will come in. Lets judge then -

If someone came in with a swop deal for Carrol last year that had: Cabaye, Marveux, Ba, Abeid, and a new striker of Gramerio ilk, would we have taken it ? the values associated are irrelevant i think. -

Has anyone considered just for a second that they are managing expectation re: transfers? Option A : We tell supporters, clubs and agents we have loads of money to spend and will be going nuts in the transfer market Option B : We tell supporters, clubs and agents we have no money left, (but still seem to find it when players like Gameiro, Gervinho etc become available) -
what is this wonderful contraption?

I think Long will be more effective in front of Hatem etc than Best would. We need a busy/quick striker making darting runs for Hatem to find. I see best coming off the bench for last 15mins when we want to bomb balls into the box. p.s. I think we can do better than Long, but definately prefer him to Best

"I know just what that shirt means to this football club, but there will be a few contenders who could wear that shirt and do it justice." Few contenders? Am i missing something?

My answer is : WHO CARES? You dont get prizes for marketing, supporter club numbers, size of stadium, etc The only thing that counts is how you do in the league, ie Success. Everything else is a waste of time and counts for nothing

You could be a small club with a Russian Billionaire then buy the league and become a big club. You could be a big club with massive stadium and fill it, but be a small club. make sense?

what a stupid article. Nolan left because he saw more potential in West Ham? OMG, that is poor poor poor I guess you could say the same about Ba moving from West Ham to Newcastle? Or what about Owen leaving Real for Newcastle? Must have been huge potential to be greater than Real. poor logic
-
I think the fact that SAM got him says it all. Im sure Pulis was also chomping, but Nolan must be too fat for stoke. Im glad he is gone, we can get a sports psycologist to replace his god like dressing room aura

on a free and on some kind of a pay as you play, with load of insurance, i see this as low risk the only time its a problem is if he is paid a lot for 2 seasons to sit in treatment room
-
lets all assume he is our backup. How good is he? got potential to be a first teamer? Or will he always be a backup?
-
The good thing would be that we could have options. 3 man midfield for away games. someone sits out in home games and we play 442

You should split the rumoured in to strong rumours (with thread) and other (without thread) - link the players to their respective threads. just a thought

Id personally like to say a big thank you to Nolan for what he has done for this club and his part in the Sunderland masacre. His contribution has been alot greater than I would have expected. I for one, will NOT miss him. Not in the slightest. Him and Fat same can have a blast turning West Ham into Stoke MK II

his close control and eye for a pass wont be lost. wow, what a video. kids got talent. imagine he had a pacey striker or 2 in front of him to look for ? imagine he had technical players around him he can bounce passes of? good times ahead

no player is bigger than the club. daft thing to say. lost what little respect i had
