  1. should try and sign Xherdan Shaqiri instead

Team and formation should not be changed. You just have a more defensive approach. For example our rb & lb should not support attack so much and keep a DM home when attacking etc. Bascially rely on counter attack - hit them on the break. Imo we should keep formation and players for every game.

prolem is (at least for me) i would like wijnaldum, sissoko and De Jong central - but none of them should be used as a dm imo. not sure if this could work. wijnaldum sissoko both box-to-box players imo. Rw de Jong Lw striker

I like that. I want that Duth trio central. Sissoko has done well enough out wide, and in a team that moves the ball better can drift inwards occasionally too. Nice class. no injuries and sort out the defence and we could be in for a great season. (fingers crossed)

    Papiss Cissé

in the right team and with the right manager he can be as good/lethal as anyone we bring in. Give him another season to prove that pardew is to blame for this drop of form.

A fit De Jong should be the first name on the team sheet to be honest. De jong should be in the team. him or wijnaldum as captain. Aarons i would play on the left and i would prefer cabella over perez on RW. Not sure about tiote either?

for captaincy. Keep colo if he sees him as for choice alternative both De Jong and Wijnaldum are former captains. ok options i think
  11. from the videos i have seen i must say he looks exciting. still very young too.
  12. I Will be hugely disappointed if Cabella leaves.
  13. Unfortunately that wont happen while Williamson, Obertan, Riviere, Marveaux, Gouffran, Elliott etc are still here stealing a wage I know. But it would be an exciting squad. Should be fairly easy to ship some of the deadwood you mention. The should still be attractive for smaller clubs with all their experience
  14. Would like a squad of 22-24 players GOAL 1. krul 2. Darlow RB 3. Janmaat 4. New young back up LB 5. Haidara 6. Dummet 7. New first choice CB. 8. Colo (could still be good in the new set up) 9. New (maybe Matip) 10. New (first choice) 11. New young 4th choice (or Dummet or Taylor) CM 12. Anita 13. Wijnaldum 14. Sissoko 15. Colback 16. De Jong 17. Abeid or Tiote RW & LW 18. Aarons 19. Cabella 20. New quality winger (Sissoko, Perez and Wijnaldum can all cover) Striker 21. Cisse (would like to keep) 22. Perez 23. New quality striker (maybe Austin or Mitrović)
  15. please stay...it will be different under mcclaren (fingers crossed)
  16. agree. crossing my fingers that mcclaren rates him and convince him that he should stay and give it another go! Cant blame him much. in a better (attacking) team he could be good an exciting to watch imo
  17. More key players rumoured away than players linked. Maybe it would be best for my health to NOT follow and just pop in start of season to see if it is worth to follow (this madhouse)
  18. Andreas Christensen from Chelsea on loan?
  19. well - scouting and finding players + staff is not something that starts the day the transfer window opens...its an ongoing thing. Signing good players early on shows you have ambitions andi believe it will make it easier to attract other players and keep the fans calm. Maybe you have to accept that for example 2 quality signings will cost a bit extra and maybe the next joins easier because they believe in the project and not just the money. Not saying im an expert but it seems like common sense imo.
  20. the 5-10% of hope i had left lasted for about 2 days! w*ankers. Same idiotic strategy or maybe they just have destroyed our reputation and scared all decent players away...
  21. NUFC is damaged. Its a circus and have been for a long time. Take Austin - why on earth would he want to come here if the wages are the same or even better at another mid table club! What used to inspire players to come here was the idea of playing in front of an amazing crowd at ST JAMES PARK. Chances are that they end up spending a couple of years in this circus and stalling their career. Only chance we have is to sign some quality players (need to convince them about our ambition (if we have some?) and offer them a wages they can´t resist! The most difficult part (i guess) is to convince and sign the first couple of quality players - then others will follow...coz if the club shows ambition and stability a lot of players would love to play for us! Good luck with restoring our club!
  22. good post. But if we kept Perez, Cisse and bought Das Dost it would fine imo. We also have De Jong as a second forward and last resort Riveiere (or something like that) I do not follow that big focus on a new striker...well i agree a proven goalscorer should have high priority, but for me 2 quality CBs and 2 quality wingers should be of highest priority! Das Dost, Cisse and De Jong - imagine how many goals they could get if they had some proper crosses coming in. I would like to keep Cisse and spend the money on good wingers: Cabella, Aarons and (sissoko) + 2 new.
