tbf - i think he needs to learn that there is a defensive side of the game too. Not saying he needs to be a second LB like jonas was. At the moment we need all players to fight 100% - thats the way out of this poor run. But i was not really happy to see obertan come on instead of him against Chelsea.

What part of him looking like he'd rather bath his own mother than put in 100% for Newcastle do you not understand? well, i agree he has not put in a strong performance for some time. just saying he has been used as a lone striker with little service for a long time. That also means he has been used as a target man - when it so obvious that it is not what he is best at. He needs to be in the box where crosses are coming in more often and a partner to make place and take the attention away from him. His working conditions have been awful and not many would have done better in terms for goals imo. Things might have happen behind the scenes?...but if Steve M can get his head right and we start playing with 2 forwards then things might change. This season (or half season) will tell? Not ready to let him go unless we sign a proven goal getter.

Pardew destroyed him tbh! Him next to Mitrovic or perez could interesting to see! I still defend him much of the way...he practical didn´t have any service for 2 years. Look no further then last season...fine stats he has! Try him with a partner up front and let him do what he does best and he might score a few which will mean a lot to his confidence.

good player but we need to upgrade - both anita and colback are ok squad players. Think a quality DCM could improve us much.

Great game. Feel sorry for the lads. They deserved more cos Chelsea has never looked that poor (1st half at least) mbabu: what a great performance...and he is not even a LB! He should keep his place...a gamble but seems like he can handle it. His positioning was a bit off at times...but what a debut Defence did well in general. krul did well and looks on form...(will never learn to kick though)! Loves Mitrovic attitude. Perez is awesome. In the final minutes when we had the corner...( know De Jong was out and it was very important not to lose) ....but at home we cannot drag time in the corner instead of going for a goal...when we already scored 1 from corner earlier in the game.

ok - he didn´t play yesterday...his time will come...and he must learn its hard work to be a star player! hope he is not ben arfa version 2.0

Dont fancy our chances of that seeing some of his comments about it being due to the new players needing to settle and get used to PL football. Its the useless f***ers already here that have been the biggest culprits so far not sure i think sissoko should be dropped...maybe play him central or LW? I prefer Thauvin on RW. Crossing will not come natural for any of them...but i think we could benefit from other abilities. He needs to do something about getting Perez in as a minimum, i still cant comprehend how he wont give Aarons more than 15 mins in a season he started Obertan in 2/3 games. Yes, hope to see both de jong and Perez start.

really hope we will win this one. Difficult to predict the outcome. 1-2 would be my (objective) guess.

I like your first line up. Probably swap Sissoko for SDJ...depending on fitness.

Should not be sold...contract extension and loaned out for the next couple of seasons. No point in selling if he is so highly rated. I know nothing about him tbh.
