Here’s the thing, people are already dreaming of a Mainoo, Rice, Bellingham midfield. No one’s putting Elliot in their starting 11. They, as I, think he should be there based on merit but in the squad as an auxiliary player.

Elliot's good but Mainoo looks special. The Wolves goal, some of the dribbling in the Liverpool game on the weekend. He looks the better player.

I personally never saw it in Jones. He was much injury prone from the moment his career started. I’m hoping we can replicate what Germany did in 09 where six of their starting players in the u21 final went on to win the World Cup five years later.

Been watching Quansah over the last few weeks and he's absolute quality. Between him, Colwil, Branthwaite and Stones for experience, we're sorted at CB for the next 10 years. Fullbacks stacked. The midfield looks nice with Rice, Bellingham and Mainoo. Forward line is a little sticky as far as a #9 goes but we've got plenty of wide forwards like Gordon, Palmer, Saka and Foden. Future's bright.

Stoke as a whole were kind of villainous. From the tactics they used to the players they had. They were pretty shameless in their approach. They were like a gimmick football team.
