I understand this but if he focused on the ball, surely the duration his shirt would been pulled would have been longer and he would have fell backwards in a more natural motion.
I’m more upset Woltemade went to ground rather than controlling and finishing. Felt like he even though there was a shirt pull, he still could have controlled the ball if he wanted to. Had he have stretched for the ball, he would have fell backwards from the shirt pull and there’d be a legitimate case.
I don’t agree, he still could have easily taken a touch, but he chose to fall over instead. The force of the pull was not that strong. He wanted the foul more than the ball.
Personally I didn’t think it was a pen, contact was minimal and I’d rather he had taken a touch, turned and shot. If that was given against us, we wouldn’t say “we’re lucky to get away with one, we’d be lambasting the player for being a soft shite.
Think we’ll be in the battle along with Brentford, Brighton, Fulham, Bournemouth for 7th. If we don’t get it, I’m not mad, I’m hoping we’ve got some psr clearance to spend either in January or the summer.
