These yoyo 'premiership' clubs are always reluctant to give players long term contracts unless things don't turn the way they expected and they're stuck with the player whilst also getting relegated. More then likely they gave him a pretty high base salalry that they can't maintain in the championship should they go down. Blackpool operate in the same manner.
Can't see a youngster like him getting a high salary. He hasn't even played more than 2 or 3 games for Lens.
