  1. Can't say that I could share your optimism tbh. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=559997&in_page_id=1779&ito=newsnow Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar has snubbed a move to Newcastle United, insisting he is not interested in playing for a "club at the bottom". Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan was keen on bringing the Spanish defender, who is this season's player of the year in Scotland, to St James' Park and travelled to Glasgow to watch him play on two occasions. But Cuellar, 26, has three-and-a-half years left on his contract and says he would much rather stay at Ibrox and "win trophies" rather than "play for a club at the bottom". Yep, seen the "quotes", still think if we offered £5m or whatever, and offered him around £30k, he'd be down in a flash. In the second link there are quotes saying he wants to stay with Rangers for the rest of his career. Sign of lack of ambition like, but that's what he said. I wish i could lack ambition by wanting to playing in the Champions League every year and win trophies......
  2. David Moyeswould have a field day! lol!
  3. Not bad, two 180's to start! lol!
  4. Ive seen a fair bit of him this season, wifes family are all "people", and have to say hes a no nonsense centre half. Has looked more than useful for most of the season. Admittedly in a weaker league,............ allegedly May well be worth a punt. Ramage in swap deal..................... This, but as i've said before, he shouldn't be compared to Boumsong as he is twice as good as he was in the SPL. And he's played in La Liga for a few years to don't forget! Thought Rangers defensive effort tonight was top notch, even Christian Dailly put in a superb performance!
  5. C'mon the Gers! What a f**king result! Shame Ferguson and Thomson miss first leg tho!
  6. There was a young lad playing up front for Stoke tonight looks like he could do a job for us. Think his name is Ameobi or something like that.......
  7. I like him, bit injury prone though. He isn't all that young either (about 25 I think). Edit: 24 in August. Still younger than Beye but still a great back up! Maybe we could the best out of him? Would be a good signing for the squad imo. Can play a lot of positions and takes a decent set piece. Not going to happen Remember Keegan is looking for 4-5 players to go into the first team therefore need to be better than what we have But we only have one left back and when Carr leaves, 1 right back. Going to need cover somewhere! And i think we are prett settled for our starting full backs, just need good cover!
  8. He is about the same age as the Yak, not really sure how old that makes him though. Exactly I wasn't prepared to go the whole hog and call him a young lad. Is this Yakubu's real age or Nigerian passport age?
  9. Except David Pleat! imagine the pair of them commentating on the same game! Hell!
  10. I like him, bit injury prone though. He isn't all that young either (about 25 I think). Edit: 24 in August. Still younger than Beye but still a great back up! Maybe we could the best out of him?
  11. Hate is a strong word.... but i fucking hate him! As a follower of Rangers as well, he really sits smuggly when if Rangers aren't winning. So bias to Celtic. Still, he can't be very happy at the minute!
  12. If we're looking for a young "back up" right back, I think Ryan Taylor from Wigan is a great shout! He cant get a game as Melchiot is there so played left wing yesterday! He's pretty versitile and scores a couple of goals. Was pretty impressed by him to be honest! Any views?
  13. There a scottish club therefore have no choice Probably, in a less harsh way, everyone has their price. Seeing that Hutton was a youth product who went for £9m, i'd expect cueller, signed for £2.7, potential Scottish Player of the year to cost more! £10m would be hard to turn down for Rangers i think.
  14. ha ha ha ha Say no more. I totally understand. I do love defenders that resist the temptation to hoof the long ball up the pitch, so the Butt man will have to get his act together and do a better job of dropping deep to get the ball. Thats only half the problem though! what will he do with it when he drops deep? 2 must buys this summer are a CB and a creative midfielder!
  15. I have had Viana, Parker and Dyer on the back of three of my shirts! Any one want me to get Smith on this years so that he might leave too?
  16. Get you now! He seems to win his challenges and play a short 5 - 10 yard pass. it helps when The Gers have Ferguson or Hemdani dropping deep to receive it and drive on to put a more telling pass in, whereas we have........
  17. Jaaskalinen is not the answer. He is no better than either of them. I think Harper should be in, this season and next, if it means Given strops off and we manage to get a decent fee for him so be it. I would then look to bring through Krul / Forster / Soderberg in the way that City have brought through Joe Hart - a keeper doesn't need to be in over 25 to be quality and it'd be such a shame if we ended up losing all / any of these keepers because we were signing keepers like Jaaskalinin or Niemi who are nearing the end of their career. I know what your saying, was only going for the reaction! Think Krul will be our next option in 2 - 3 years depending on Given and Harpers form and fitness!
  18. I've seen a good few Rangers games this season and he's been impressive, albeit in the SPL. But in the CL and UEFA Cup he's more than held his own. He is pretty good technically, rarely misjudges headers and lets not forget, he's been covering a 37 year old David Weir all season too so he's doing quite a bit! Could play sweeper but iyam, not what we need at Newcastle! Play him at centre back.
  19. Harper until Jussi signs in the summer!
  20. Before anyone starts drawing Boumsong comparisons, Cueller looks a totally different player to him in the Scottish league. He wins his headers and instead of trying to pick a 50 yard pass, he plays a short pass to the best option. He's quick enough ( for a player of his size) and always seems to be in the righ place at the right time! I think he's worth a go, AT THE RIGHT PRICE! I fear given his importance to Rangers and their run in Europe this year, it could be anything up to £10m unfortunately!
  21. Finished 2-2, Ameobi and Baheng according to .co.uk!
  22. Not a lot, couple of quid just but usual kicking myself for not putting more on! still a good little amount for a couple of pound!
