Looks like the original article is down, despite still being the top story on their world cup 2018 page http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/world-cup-2018

BS propaganda from old FFS cronies in the local media - "a source close to the discussions" is speaking for shearer. Whatever.
-
FFS is a total cunt of the highest order, and shouldn't even be allowed in the city; the thought of him anywhere near the helm of the club shits me right up. Yes, we were in the CL for a little while, but that was much more down to bobby/kk/shearer than anything FFS did. The spending required was unsustainable and I see it as being paid for, in effect, by Ashley when he cleared debts. In all honesty, FFS lucked out by accidently appointing bobby *against his better judgement*. Yes, it was Ashley's watch when we were relegated, but it only capped the sad, inevitable decline started by FFS all those years ago when he sacked bobby at the wrong time. Then the arrogant, clueless fuck compounded his error with - and these names should be branded to his fucking head - souness, roeder, allardyce. Each name is further proof, if it were needed, that he shouldn't be let within sight of SJP, the same as our relegation is a mark of shame for us and for Ashley, so the team is post bobby. This is to say nothing of the further misdemeanours he perpetrated: the shameless, facile nepotism; the bullying of the press and the fanzines; the Geordie Nation shite; the horrific love of the limelight; the wage bill, funded by debt; all the rumoured (ha!) financial shenanigans which he allegedly (ha!) personally profited from. All you who say you'd welcome him back, you're like beaten wives who fondly remember the one screaming orgasm you had all those years ago on your wedding night, but not the daily rape or beatings you suffered for years after, or the fact he mortgaged your house and gambled away the money, until you kicked his no good ass to the kerb, only to take up with a shit craic accountant who paid off your debt but made you move to Sunderland. You can still work hard, get some cash together and move back to the toon, but any more rape, and who the fuck knows? Rant (and dodgy analogy) over. Piece said.

slightly improved? Out - In David Rozehnal - :colo: Emre - Guthrie Carr - Xisco Ramage - Bassong Faye - Nacho Milner - Jonas Granted there's not been much time to see how the new players are settling in, and Nacho is an unknown, and Xisco has only had one good season in spain, but on the other hand, we've got rid of some real dross, and I'm far, far happier with Jonas than Milner in the side. Of the players who have gone, I only rated Faye - rozenhal was clearly bobbins, emre's best days are behind him, carr and ramage, were clearly dogshite.... I'm happy to see any of the players we've brought in in the first team. It's a blatant, clear, definite improvement. All this bitching and moaning, and we've got a genuinely exciting team; one which can hold its own at manu ffs. Now then I know that KK had plenty to do with that, but don't take anything away from the players either. Am I gutted KK's gone? Sure, but the club's more than KK, and in all honesty, I'm over all this drama. KK and the board had a tiff, KK's done a runner, but we've still got the players, and I really, really don't think any great injustice has been done to us, I'm still far happier with Ashley in charge than Freddie, and I just want to get on with supporting Newcastle United.

Rumours of a transfer embargo on City... kind of screws up my dreams of elano and johnson in black and white :/

Is it possible/wise for the club to give the press nothing whatsoever?
simonlemagnifique replied to Dave's topic in Football
The press was hardly positive, in the FFS era though, was it? Whether or not we talk to the press, they'll still print biased shite, they'll just have twisted quotes to back it up with. But just shutting the press out should be one half of the club's strategy; it should majorly ramp up internal efforts to communicate with the fans - the website, official magazines, their own TV channel, even unuofficial magazines, also, they have addresses of all the ST holders, talk to them! Also, once the football begins, everybody will focus on what's happening on the pitch anyway. We can't sign anybody til January, and we'll be playing football. The club would be mental to talk to the press about potential targets before we sign them; it sets us up for a fall and alerts other clubs to our targets. It might be nice to have a bit more knowledge after the fact - "yeah, we tried to sign Aimar, but wages were an issue" - kind of thing. Finally, I reckon that if we do get these extra promised players, people will remember this close season when the next one pops round, "remember last season, we knew fuck all, and we got collocini, spidey, blah blah blah, and none of us knew a fucking thing"... it'll build trust. Ooh, and the less we tell WKL the better, fucking tart. -
lua lua for scoring against us while on loan for portsmouth, not in itself anything to be too upset about, but he went and did his happy dance. cock.

Go on then, I'll bite. Why is that? You know why and that we can sum up our south american signings in.... mackems.gif surely peru is in, yanow, south america?

I'd like to see him stay at the club. What he did is wrong, the punishment is evidence enough of that, but I'd rather the club not write off a £5m investment... there looks to be a general belt tightening procedure going on round here, and it would be upsetting if we missed out on a player of quality because we'd had to account for writing Barton off in the books... If you or I were sent down, chances are we'd lose our jobs, but Barton isn't you or me, he's a walking, (scouse) talking, (occasionally) punching £5,000,000 asset. That's not to say there aren't limits, there clearly have to be, but it's my opinion that he hasn't yet breached them... one more offense and sure, he's out, but not yet. -

Every chance he'll be out in half that given the state of the prisons... It could have the effect of humbling him and at the very least, it'll keep him out of trouble in the summer -

Just saw on SSN he's got 6 months for affray. -
Would it make more sense to have the academy side stocked with only local (as in England, not Newcastle) players, stop the poaching of foreign u-18 talent, and massively encourage the development of home grown players?
-
Flamini, or if he goes to Milan, Gattuso? Sure KK/wise have some good ideas though.

Boca juniors in Buenos Aires, intimidating atmosphere inside, dead steep stands (it's called la bonbonera (the chocolate box) due to its steepness), mega noisy then you get out and get mugged by the locals. literally...

pretty puzled by this: http://football.guardian.co.uk/Match_Report/0,,2275211,00.html?gusrc=rss&feed=5 I reckon enrique's a brilliant player. Can't understand the rumours about riise when we've got a 21 year old who's better...
