"the histrionics are over the top, but that's what you expect up here. We'll hopefully try and maybe shut them up"

I've woken up still angry about what I saw last night. I thought I didn't care anymore after all the shit we've endured, but whatever that was last night really hurt. To see what has become of our club is really sad. To watch that guy stood on the touch line like a deer in headlights with not a clue what to do, getting paid the money he does. As has been pointed out, it wouldn't be so bad, if he didn't already have a ridiculously long history of being this shit at other clubs. This is not a secret. Steve Bruce doesn't have a clue how to be a football manager. He just played football in a successful team once and has lived off it ever since. I thought Bruce was an irrelevance as the club was dying without the Takeover anyway. But I agree, he is the the Trump of the football world. He's burning everything to shit before things have a chance of getting better.

They were false alright

Survival under Bruce, pretty much hinges on this guy staying fit for remainder of the season. Without him the team has nothing, especially poor Wilson up top. Watch Bruce rush him back now and cause another muscle injury or something.

Murphy on at rb. Longstaff and Hendrick play full 90 ?. Genuinely worst performance from a manager of ever seen for us.
-
No manager should survive this.
-
When was the last time we didn't lose possession from a throw in ?
-
I mean surely Almiron gives you more legs than fucking longstaff or Hendrick to try to counter?
-
Sheffield will never have a better chance to win a game. If they don't win this then they won't win a game all season.
-
Under a good manager this game is still winnable. Get Almiron, Murphy and Gayle on and just attack

"Went down to 10 men and against any side that's difficult, so we had to go more defensive than I would like 2nd half. But we'll dust wur selfs down and go again."
-
Changes nothing. Fraser was anonymous anyways. This is peak Bruce. We'll remember this game the most when he finally fucks off
-
This is a new level of crap for us. I suppose if we "hang on" then we can only get more attacking with each substitution? ?
-
Possibly the most defensive line up and tactics all season and its against these ?
-
It's already tragic. Summed up by that dummett free kick routine ?

Alot of the other players being mentioned here, while perhaps have under performed and didn't deserve their price tag, all have shown far greater ability in their careers so far than Joelinton. You also have to take into account that the clubs mentioned often spend far greater sums than we do regularly. £30m is about average for one of their squad players. Joelinton has not shown before or since we signed him, anything to suggest he should be valued anywhere close to £40m. For a club that famously does not spend large sums on players. Then you have to suspect that this is either a massive agent/club scam or its one of the most embarrassing scouting jobs of all time.
-
I truly hope the rumours of him not actually being £40m and the fee being exaggerated by the club with lots of add ons is true. I can't think of a worse player in history that has been transferred for such a sum. Sure there's been some shocking transfers over the years but this feels like the most expensive flop if he really cost as much as they said.

This for me too. All arguments about Bruce, players and everything else feels pointless for now. Without significant investment, the future for the club looks bleak. Of course if we get to a point where the takeover is completely dead, which evidence points to not being the case right now, then something else will need to be done (sack Bruce) for the sake of survival. But the general downward trajectory of our club will continue without significant investment. Quick question. Was it not leaked from the buyers last year that investment wouldn't be on a Man City level and would be alot more steady and sensible? No complaints from me if that was the case, as we would still be moving in the right direction. But talk of being the richest club in the world etc may leave some disappointed if we didn't start throwing silly money around.

Basically yeah. He's an explosive player that relies on burst of speed rather than non stop running for 90 minutes like a James milner for example. But he regularly struggles with muscle injuries, most likely due to to our medical staff. So if he has covid fatigue issues on top then that won't be good.
-
He's our best player. But his fitness was a little suspect even at the best of times. If it's true then we might get the odd 10 mins out of him. If he has any lung damage like some cases you hear of then his career is fucked. Most likely the covid excuse was bollocks however.

Such a great goal. Showed Dyer's potential with that unreal pace. Shame injuries and probably attitude stopped him becoming a great player.
-
Joke of a pen decision. Literally trips himself up

"Look you can look at the statistics as much as you want." Steve Bruce

It's starting to feel like a deal was made some time ago and agreement made to keep him away until he leaves for another team to avoid injury or because he fell out with Bruce or something. I know that seems over the top paranoid but nothing would surprise me with the idiots in charge of us. I really want us to hang on to Allan in the hopes we get taken over. I feel like he is our diamond in the rough. There is so much raw talent there and with a good manager he can only get better. It will hurt to watch him fulfil that potential elsewhere.
