  1. Most people don't include wages because it more or less balances it out when you sell a player and then sign one. Unless the new guys has huge wages compared to the one you sold ofcourse. But Ashley is different.
  2. Will be complete bollocks but some will believe it as people tend to believe the more negative stuff.
  3. The fee really doesn't matter though, it's irrelevant because we know it won't be reinvested. I didn't care what we got, I just wanted to keep the player. I know for us it's irrelevant as they won't reinvest and we don't get to watch him play for us anymore. But if it was a crazy offer you could sort of understand them letting him go. But to take our possible best and most influential player out of the team for a measly £16m feels a bit like, why? I mean surely if they aren't offering silly money then you hold on to him and if he has a good end to the season/world cup then surely a Man U or someone would stump up far more than that.
  4. Having seen him recently, what the fuck was Pardew thinking trying to sign him?
  5. Really hope that £16m fee isn't true. Be an insult if he leaves for that little. Not because I think for one second it would get spent on a replacement but just thinking about some of the dross that has gone for more in this league alone makes a fee that low for someone of Cabaye's quality a joke.
  6. Can already see people getting excited about Grenier. Don't, will only feel worse when Pardew does his press conference on deadline day and says we're "keeping our powder dry" Infact if I hear those words from him ever again I may go at little insane.
  7. Yeah I'd hate Cabaye leaving to mean Tiote goes back to his trying to be more creative again.
  8. To be fair if Ben Arfa comes in and plays a blinder there may be some hope like.
  9. Think Ireland was injured almost the entire time no? Either way it was a complete waste of time that loan.
  10. Altidore and Alves didn't flop in Holland though? Hopefully he'll have the opposite effect. That's what I mean. De Jong was good in Holland as were they. But there has been a lot of strikers that have scored plenty in that league but struggled in others. Hopefully with the way we scout players these days and the impressive success rate of our other signings that this one will work out also.
  11. So what are you suggesting is going to happen to us VanBarpunk?
  12. The fact Pardew maybe forced into starting with some more attacking players could work in our favour. As seen at West Ham, attack is our best form of defence.
  13. The way he has flopped in Germany does give me the feeling he may be another Alitidore or Alfonso Alves but willing to give him a chance. More than anything because he's not Shola.

    Sunderland

This striker Sunderland just signed any good? Already worried about it, don't need them having a genuine goal threat to add to that.
  15. Also said Grenier would cost £10 billion
  16. Just remember Shola is currently 2nd choice striker and your excitement may grow. He can't possibly be worse than Shola surely?
  17. Marveaux's fitness always seemed to be a problem when he was playing last season, and with him having not played for ages I doubt he'd have the match fitness to start tonight.
  18. If he does sign, I doubt it will be announced by us until the Cabaye deal is done.
  19. Every frenchman loves Cabaye. Pretty standard
  20. Don't think anyone slagged off PSG anyway. All the criticism has been for Ashley.
  21. Tom Ince in talks with fucking Stoke. Can't believe we're not interested at all, especially as he's moving on loan so they wouldn't even have to pay out loads of money and with Pardew always going on about wanting more English players?
