  1. Did have a shocking start like . Headed it straight to them then preceded to foul the player he just gave the ball to. He has those sort of clumsy moments. I'll never forget the liverpool away game last season where he went to get the ball got closed down by Suarez, panicked, miss-controlled, then pulled him down for a penalty. Urgh.
  2. In general he has made us a far better defensive unit. Especially during that unbeaten start to the season. Since Taylor's injury we have had some dodgy defensive performances, particularly from Simpson and Williamson. But on the the whole we are ok defensively as he makes everyone from the goalie to the strikers work there bollocks off defensively but i have yet to see any tactical nous from Pardew in terms of improving us as an attacking side. His one tactic this season has been to put percentage balls forward and let Demba pick up the crumbs. Apart from that we have just scored individual wonder goals/freekicks from R.Taylor, Cabaye, Jonas, Ben Arfa etc.

    St James' Park

Isn't he banned from the ground these days?
  4. I don't understand it. Myself and loads of other Newcastle fans i speak to don't rate him. If i ever watch games with supporters of other teams they all comment on how shit he is. Are we all just plain wrong?

    Alan Pardew

I was genuinely bored stupid watching us in the first half. I never thought i would feel like that watching Newcastle, especially in a game we are winning as I wouldn't normally care as winning is what's most important. But i couldn't believe that we just gave them the ball for the remainder of that half. I don't know if it was just arrogance from our lads thinking wolves were too weak to break us down. To be fair it did look like that maybe the case in the first half. I thoroughly expected Pardew to give them a kick up the arse at half time and we would go on to get a 3rd and make the result certain but well we know what actually happened.

If we get beat and people start getting on his back the media will murder us considering where we are in the table.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

There were also about 3 points in the game where he got the ball, looked up and there was not a movement made by those ahead of him. It was more noticeable when Shola was on like. basically every time he got the ball i noticed that. Also he quite often is surrounded by 2-3 opposition players. We should be using that to our advantage, it leaves space for others if they bother to run into. Now they either think Hatam is too selfish to pass to them or they just can't be bothered.

Wow, never seen that. The bald bloke is scarily accurate with what we have found out about Pardew during his time here. Ive seen him constantly go on about his teams have always played good football etc. When in reality since the day he took over we have been a long ball team. It worked when we had the Carroll-Barton-nolan thing going. Then with Best and Shola. Then with Ba and Shola. But as we saw today, long ball is just not going to work with Ba and Cisse. So unless he decides to bench Cisse for Shola we need to change and adapt to our new and better players.

Ironically despite his "poor" cameo most of our play in that last twenty minutes revolved around him and we had our best spell of the game except maybe the first 15 minutes or so. Now that's probably due to us waking up a bit and putting in a bit of effort. Our whole play in those last 15-20 was so rushed and panicked due to us trying to suddenly get into top gear after coasting for most of the game and force a winner. Like Pardew or not, we are capable of far better than that but our attitude to the game was all wrong. Someone like Ben Arfa would be far better from the start where the game is at a slower pace and we are not chasing a winning goal. He would then not be trying to force it and we can be a bit more patient with our build up. I still want to see him on the same pitch as Ba and Cisse. However it was obvious he was rusty as fuck and i worry that his poor decision making (4 players in the box and he runs it out of play rather than cross/last minute of game running out of the play trying to take on too many players, etc) may count against him and once again see him frozen out for a few games. Which is a shame because mixed in with his little cameo were still flashes of brilliance that should be harnessed not buried.

But then again he did sign a 5 and 1/2 year contract and falls in line with every decision they make, never kicking up a fuss.

Incorrect! You must be either Pardew's biggest fan (WE'RE SIXTH) or want him sacked immediately. Pick a side.

funny because that was the post of an arsehole Possibly, but an arsehole who was watching football and this club before you were even thought of. Is that an "I'm older than you" argument?
  14. to be fair we had a shocker away at west brom last season and are yet to play them away this. So not going to make any jokes about their result
  15. Just started watching. How come Zlatan isnt playing? suspended or injured?
  16. There is no way we will be as flat as we were today. If we can get "up" for the game like we were against man u and spurs at home. Then we as a team are a completely different animal.
  17. It's "game of the day" God knows how it was an atrocious game of football

    Papiss Cissé

would be a shame if he had to miss his international call up hope it isn't serious though if it wasn't an injury then he came off way too early today.
  19. watching it again. We were playing really well up until 2 nil and then just almost completely stopped playing. Now if we want to compete with the top clubs then we simply cannot do that. The top teams carry on pushing and go on to win at a canter. I don't know if it was the manager or just the players couldn't be bothered but it really was shocking. It's probably the reason we haven't beaten anyone with a truly convincing scoreline this season despite the man united game. (which was 2 wonder goals and a injury time own goal)
  20. Re-watching the game now on football first. Man he really does just punt it forward at every opportunity

I think people should get hold of a list of our fixtures this season and calculate the number of games where they think we have played well. I counted 6 where win, lose or draw i thought we played very well. But there were a lot of games i thought we were really poor in even if we won that game.
  22. I have a feeling we will see Shola start ahead of Cisse in this. Purely for the fact we had no-one to win headers today and with Pardew's style of play it requires a big man upfront.

Villa away back in august was one of the best games i've seen from us in terms of possession and short passing.

    Danny Guthrie

dunno what happened to him but the most basic of passes he was putting straight out of play.
