All this talk is meaningless. If i'm not mistaken he is the only player to play every single game this season for us?? Which is amazing considering how crap he is. Ryan Taylor should be given a chance, because if someone was laying back the passes for him to cross in like simpson had today, then you can bet they would be a hell of a lot better.

We really struggle against counter attacking teams with pace. So i fully expect us to play a high line and hoofball like against west brom.

He played like he did when he just returned from the broken leg. Rusty, dodgy decison making,lack of pace etc. Probably due to his lack of game time. Yet he still almost won us the game. Play him advanced enough and we will reap the rewards

You sit back like that and coast it's inevitable that the other team could get a fluky goal. Then it's 2-1 and all to play for and it's impossible to just suddenly flick a switch and hit top gear. Fucking shit. They were there for the taking and we just couldn't be arsed. Haven't played well since the man united game.

Iv'e defended Pardew alot but today i am seeing alot of the things that people have been criticising him for. Yes we're winning (most important thing at the end of the day) and very comfortably so lets get the ball down and play a bit rather than giving it to Williamson to punt down field.

Has great work rate and good movement. Defiantly a more off the shoulder player compared to Ba. Partnership is very promising.

God we are boring sometimes. Despite occasionally scoring great goals. The annoying thing today is that every time we go forward we look like scoring so we should be all over them but we're just letting them have the ball now because we know they're shit.

I simply can't stand the Harry loving at the moment. It was bad before but it's kicked up another gear now and is utterly unbearable. Edit. Oh and on that Pardew quote. Redknapp is proving again what a bellend he is. Pardew was asked directly about being named as a potential successor to Capello and he said he didn't consider himself to be in the running.

HTT, your saying if we played better more attacking football we would be even higher but I have to disagree. The more open we are could expose us defensively. Which we haven't really been this season hence wins we have with narrow margins. The times we have been exposed, West Brom/Fulham/spurs we have been torn apart at the back because we lack pace. I am a huge critic of Pardew and would love him to play Ben Arfa more etc. But I believe we have played a certain way as some of our players are not top 6 quality and therefore have got the best we can out of them. I think we need to get as high as possible this season and then try and upgrade on the crap in the squad and kick on and play better football next season. It remains to be seen whether Pardew can produce a team that plays good football but it would be extremely harsh to make a judgement on him in his first full season with his team. I think he has just stuck with what has got us placed so high this season and doesn't want to mess with it. Next season will be the time to judge as if we try to replicate this season with the same style we will go backwards in my opinion.

Need Pardew to do another phone-in so he can give us some information on this because it's becoming a real nagging moan from alot of people every game. I just don't understand it.

Pardew, the man who gave out token substitutions to people like Alan Smith just to keep him happy won't even give this guy a few minutes.

I know people are getting sick of this whole debate but I really think it's something personal between him and Pardew. Clash of personalities or something? Reminds me alot of Souness/Robert or even Pardew/Tevez.

He will be nice a rusty again but expected to do wonders before being hauled off because he hasn't tracked the forward runs of Carl Henry or something.

You probably haven't noticed but he gets sucked inside when Coloccini gets sucked out wide, it's called covering and Pardew has just been on ESPN with the biggest grin on his face I've seen today. He overcovers at times but that doesn't excuse his lack of passing ability, he cant even clear the ball, he kicks with same pace and strength of my 6 yr old, simply he isn't good enough and never will be. I'd love someone to make a compilation of all the times he touched the ball today because it really is shocking how bad he is with the ball. Plus his lack of pace is a real problem. Gets done by attackers and then when going forward the balls that are passed to him constantly go out of play because he can never get to them. Normally you would blame the passer for that but each example were acceptable weighted passes.
