Not a single one of those quotes suggest he is "happy to wait". Typical misleading title. Edit*** Also would anyone disagree that Hatem probably has a far better cross on him than any other current winger in the squad??

Did ok in the first half against man u last time

Love that the pre-match press conference on nutv is of the game at old trafford and not tomorrow's game.

It was so horrible yet so utterly predictable. I was moaning about the freekick and saying how classic liverpool it would be if Gerrard then goes and scores. But then Bellamy steps over it so im relieved. THEN fucking simpson starts running back and im screaming "WHAT ARE YOU DOING GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"..................Goal. FFS

If he wasn't so pig-headed and stubborn I think I'd have a lot more time for Pardew. Instead i get that same horrible Souness/Allardyce/Kinnear vibe after a defeat where i can't help but feel he is massively responsible for the loss. Which is probably harsh on him tbf

Patience is wearing very fucking thin with this lad. Just want him to look like he is making some sort of effort. From watching him this season he looks like the most un-confident man in the world.

Was thinking the same. If Obertan is the alternative (He's never going to play Ben Arfa there) then I would much prefer Guthrie playing out there whipping in some sort of supply for Ba. Was so frustrating seeing Ba get absolutely zero service most of tonight and then when we finally did feed him he was inches from scoring. When you have effectively one of if not THE most inform striker in the league then you attack people and try and get the ball into him as much as possible not pump 60 yard balls up to him with absolutely no support.
-
Still looked off the pace for me. Very sloppy at times tonight but can't single him out as there were far worse performances elsewhere
-
I miss Danny. When is he due back?
-
We conceded (a shocking goal ) as soon as he came on pretty much and then the game just got away from us and no one else could be arsed at 3-1. He got the ball about twice in the remaining time and both times he was surrounded by about 4 liverpool shirts and no black n whites. Disappointing he didn't get chance to start where he could have got into the game more not when it was already lost.

Man that was fucking painful to watch. Goal came at the absolute worst time out of absolutely nothing. Fucking typical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rant::rant::rant::rant::rant::rant::rant::rant::rant::rant:

Ray Wilkins really does need to fuck off. End up turning the sound right down whenever there is a game on now

Wow, I'm a bigger supporter of Obertan being demoted to the bench but chirst some of the posts on the last few pages have been extreme. I guess this is an internet forum though. I feel we need to try it the other way around and bring Obertan on as the impact player and see how that works out instead.

A compilation of his goals this season is going to be jizz-worthy

Quite annoying that he is in such scintillating form while the rest of the team is struggling Earlier in the season we would have won games that he scored twice in.

Excellent post Parky. It seems at the moment we are beating ourselves by giving the opposition a helping hand. Against Norwich's big b****** strikers we deliberately ignored the only central defensive option we had in Kadar and played two lightweight right backs instead...and got pulverised by their big b****** strikers. Against Swansea who defended deep, we refused to bring on a player who might have had the imagination to open up a stubborn back line and persisted with players who are good lads but s*** themselves at the thought of actually threatening the opposition for real. Today we went with a high line against a team who are only dangerous on the break and gifted them goals as a result. Don't blame the players, blame the inept management. Pardew for England? Agree with all of this. He seems reluctant to branch out from the 442 when we have the players to change. Demba is Boss at the moment so put him upfront on his own with a midfield of tiote cabaye and vuckic/ben arfa. Just to give us more possession and more control of the midfield. Shola has been useless in recent cameos and i keep seeing Pardew instructing krul and others to hoof it to him. Don't get me started on Obertan. Keep hoping he is guna pull some magic out his arse but it's becoming obvious with each passing game that it is unlikely to happen

I haven't read any of this thread but his performance was likely down to being out for ages and then playing 2 games in the space of a few days
-
All those things he says on the NUTV interview are really frustrating. He says things like " we couldn't find that pocket of space or pick that pass today" etc. All the things he has previously said that hatem can give us. Then he says that Ben Arfa will be frustrated today and that might fuel him for wednesday. Well that doesn't really help us get any more points out of this game does it?
-
I just want to know what his issue is with Ben Arfa. Does he just not rate him? I don't care where it comes from, an inside source or anything I just want to know because it's getting annoying
-
Played well. Was always going to be the easier of the 2 games but what he needed to do he did well today. If i slag him off when he's crap then it's only fair to praise him when he does ok.
-
Absolutely incorrect there. At Liverpool and Arsenal we played more possessive and attacking football. The reason we were defensive this game was simply we were pushed back and had to be. You forced us further back and pressed us up high whenever we had the ball, this forced us into more passing mistakes than the usual games we play. The best substitution for Swansea was when Best went off. or to put it another way.....Shola coming on
-
shola is the most classic english battering ram , just like perch is the quintessential commanding centre half. ( yes i know you were being sarcastic.) i dont know what shola is, sometimes he has moments of brilliance. then other times (most of the time) he is just a turd. I can tolerate Shola more than most at times but i just didn't get the decision today. We didn't need to lump it forward we just needed a key to unlock their defence and bringing Ben Arfa on and linking play with Cabaye and Ba would have given us something new. I just simply don't understand why he has been completely left out since Chelsea. He didnt even have a terrible game against Chelsea it was just there was no space in that game and chelsea are incredibly strong in the center of midfield so nulified his threat. Something must have kicked off between them it's the only reason i can think he has been frozen out of late.
-
This is what worries me as well. Worried he's just going to piss him off, flog him and then he will turn in some class performances elsewhere. With all the comments Pardew has made, you're right there are barely any games he will be involved in and perhaps his best chance is when Ba goes off to ACN but I want to see him in the same line up as Cabaye,Tiote and Ba not our weakened team like it was when he has started.
-
Was classic Shola today. Came on, made one run then barely moved for the rest of the game and proceeded to foul and lose possession. Was the perfect game for Ben Arfa , not to throw on your classic English battering ram. I don't think Shola won a single header when he came on.
