At his age his market value is aroung £5-£6m. Viduka's a good player, if he was still on contract boro wouldn't let him leave for anything under 8mil. (especially to us) Took into account inflation aswell
-
i understand people's frustration, that our spending has paled in comparison some of the other billionaire owners, but if we paid the current market price for the players we got on free (i'd estimate 9 mil for viduka, 6 mil for geremi and 3.5 mil for cacapa) would people be happy then?

i'd put a hundred pounds on him going first.... if i wasn't such a coward
-
My indifference is alarming

yes, the intimidation factor will be key... nothing like 3 screaming fans willing the home side on Or they'll all come dressed as red seats and stand in silence again. love it when they do that.. sometimes i almost think the stadium is empty..

i assure you, i wasn't implying suicide at all.. yes sh*t does happen, but i'm still going into this match with arrogance

Why do people keep saying this? He was a first team regular for Allardyce's excellent Bolton last season, and a rock in their side. He'd be a bloody good 'squad member', if not a regular. They only finished 6th man! We surely need to be challenging for the league or Allardyce and the board have failed! This season is wasted. We could be in for a relegation battle. it's all over, i'll let the FA know that we don't even want to compete this year. relegate us now Always one who has to go that step too far stems from my abuse as a child.. often had to overexagerate to compensate for such a decrepid life... thanks for bringing that up

Don't worry, you get wrong for being pessimistic here, you get wrong for being optimistic here. If you don't take the middle ground your a lune & your opinion counts as s***, you'll get used to it. i'll certainly try don't no what the uproar is tbh.. don't have to be liverpool to beat boro

nothing wrong with a bit of optimism.. jesus can't be pesismistic, cant be optimistic.. looks like we're going to have start adopting realism..

come on alex.. have a go at him now. btw i totally agree The sentiment, like yours, is correct. But to say anything less than a win is abysmal or a 'total shambles', can only come from someone thinking we're something we're not. Only the top four (if that, tbh) have the divine right of saying that. You can't go away to anyone in the Premiership and claim anything but a win is a 'shambles'. 1. Are we a better team? <yes move to question 3> <no move to 2> 2. why not? 3. Are middlesbrough a weakened side? <yes- than yeah we should win> <no move to 4> 4. Are you mad? Yes you can say that, is it wrong to expect a win against a side we should be beating? Expect a win, yes. I'm expecting a win. But to say it's a shambles if we don't is plain daft. Am i really actually wrong here? That was fun btw, thanks. just thought the point would come across stonger if it was interactive technically you're not wrong, but still, speaking for myself i'd be gutted if we didn't pick up all 3 points. its a game we need to win if we want to climb up the table.. we can't justle settle for draws against teams that we should beat I'd be disappointed with a draw. I wouldn't be 'settling' for that. I just wouldn't regard it as a 'shambles' if we only picked up a point. dissappointment, shambles.. same thing really..

if you're gonna wish.. then wish we'll buy him

tbf he did do this when he got rozehnal.. since mort wasn't even in the picture yet.
-
its nice to be nice

This is like the rozehnal deal.. this is how sam plays it, bargain-hunter that he is. Sam's playing the bluff, sizing them up..

your comment is very much appreciated

Looks... ok there. Much better than than the other shots. I won't be buying it though, in fact I was out earlier with my friend and sort of caved in and bought the away shirt so that's more than enough (having that and the home) for me. Giveover.. its not that bad. I quite like it actually... seen some much worse kits, like last years away was awful.
-
wouldn't it? If we want to reach that high european echalante we need to be beating teams like boro (expecting to struggle) home or away. we can't just be content with draws against teams we'r better than.. don't see the problem with that. That's just my view anyway- its not like i'm talking about manyoo here, just saying i'll be dissappointed if we don't win. With these Ferrero Rocher you are really spoiling us. meant echelon....

Have they? Man city took enormous risks with their purchases, they bought players who did reasonably well in their respective leagues and a lot of money was spent by a rather mediocre manager... sound familiar?, think back to us a few years ago. whether these new-comers are going to have the desired effect is still very much the question; if they do work out then good on sven for taking these risks. I think we've done very well this transfer season and bought some rather good players at bargain basement prices. We've improved the team vastly without having to spend megabucks; if we paid for viduka, geremi and cacapa would you be happier then? just to prove we have the money. Its the first season, the stabilizer.. ashley needs to assess what we need and how much investment is needed by watching us this season; he's not going to piss away his own money because people want to complain about a low net spend.. Do we need a playmaker? yes, but don't forget we have very good midfieldes who, surprisingly, are adept enough to make through balls and, with the strikeforce that we have; it would be unfeasible to think that we aren't a side with goals in us. Complaining now 2 games in, is outlandish to say the least.. at least give the team time to positively assert your assumptions that this season will not be a success. le'ts just say this.. isn't it a testament to big sam that we actually have these high hopes to begin with? when last yearwas a complete farce. Give the team a time for stability instead of heaping on the negativity, it helps nobody.
