The only way to sustain buying and keeping the players we want is through success on the pitch. That will drive commercial revenues and allow us to try and match our competitors’ deals through APT. The Brighton model has a ceiling and we’re already there. We need to break through before we lose more ground. I’m sure there’s a middle ground to be found but first and foremost we need to bring in the best young players we can (that can make a near immediate impact) or risk falling further behind.
