Are people trolling when they say they’d have Madueke for 50m over Elanga for the same money? I’d completely understand if they thought we could get him on the cheap (as he’s got a lot Howe can work with) but the guy is one of the most frustrating wingers in the league; still plays like a raw, selfish teenager. Bit of a knob too by all accounts. For the same money you go Elanga every time, surely.

I agree that we need another cm, I just don’t think we’ll spend a giant chunk of our budget on a blue-chip one.

There’s no way we’re spending 40m plus on a cm this window, unfortunately. I’d love Ederson here though.

JP, Elanga and Guehi would be a wild summer. Assuming Willock goes though to finance it, which is fine.

Quite a few forest fans would rather lose MGW than Elanga for the same money.

Can see the argument for Akliouche but Lee Kang-in is bobbins, man.

He’s not as fast for sure and quite lightweight. Good player though, and I’d be happy with him for sure. I just don’t see how 50m for Akliouche is a great deal while the same money for a more effective player is being laughed at.

I said I like him. Could say the same about yourself and Elanga though.

It’s an opinion as they’re different types of player but Akliouche is a lot less physical and more “safe” in his play. Elanga’s certainly the more effective player.

I’ve seen loads of Akliouche this season as well and while I like him a lot he’s not as good as Elanga and would cost the same amount.

Why? They’re all worse than Elanga. Some considerably so.

50m for Elanga is good business.

As annoying as it would be to lose him, you can’t say no to 30m pure profit for someone’s who’s years away from being a full-time starter. It’s a sad indictment of modern prem football (PSr era) that even the idea of slowly nurturing a local academy product to become a first team regular and potential star is considered financially irresponsible. *sigh*

Better than asking for some mythical “cheaper but better than Elanga” player “from the continent”. Ignoring the fact that 17 year old players from the Greek league are going for 40m too.

In any case we’ll probably get someone like Buonnotte from Brighton. Which is fine too.

Like any non-cartel club they’ll need to sell a “crown jewel” eventually. If it’s not MGW this year it’ll be someone else.

People are really underrating Elanga here. 50m wouldn’t be a bad price either.

He’s no Mbeumo but Elanga would be great for us.
