  1. I’m not entirely sure I understand the question, but if I had to guess why Aramco rather than PIF, it’s probably because Aramco isn’t technically state-owned, it’s a listed company, whereas PIF clearly is. Likely better from an optics point of view. I mean F1 already runs on oil money anyway and this partnership would be less politically charged (sportswashing!?) and seen as more commercial than political.
  2. Sela seem to be absolutely hemorrhaging money so it’s hardly a shock if PIF rotates the sponsorship to another portfolio company next time. It’s also an easy way to give a new venture instant exposure. If it’s another PIF name, my bets would be: RIA (Riyadh Air), ROSHN, Ceer Motors or possibly the Saudi Investment Bank if the rebrand rumours are true.
  3. Nah it just makes me laugh that whenever a thread descends into a pun-fest I know @cubaricho is somewhere punching a hole through his drywall .
  4. You lads are in rare form.
  5. Agreed; he’s not what he was, obviously, but someone with his mentality in the dressing room is always a plus. Prime Casemiro was comfortably one of the best midfield destroyers the game’s ever seen.

I think it was Owen (yeah, yeah, I know) who once said he’d sometimes avoid striking the ball perfectly in front of goal. There’s something in that imo; scuffed shots can be awkward, unpredictable, and harder for keepers to read.
  7. When an opponent takes no shots and presses this aggressively, this is when you want Ramsdale.
  8. Moaning already now about putting a strong team out so we can give ourselves a boost in advancing in the UCL. Strange reactions.
  9. Free pint of your finest whiskey please, barkeep. Ahthankyousuh.
  10. Fans have every right to voice concerns, that’s football. But it’s still gutting to see expectations completely take over what should be a really special time for the club. Honestly, this is probably the best spell in my lifetime as a NUFC fan, and yet the moaning and getting on players’ backs feels just as bad as ever. It just shows that relative success doesn’t always equal happiness. Nights like this should have St James’ rocking. It’d be such a letdown if it was flat tonight.
