Pope just made up for the goal. Almost conceded because we were too busy talking and getting chippy tackles in. Very unlucky not to score and if we can get the next goal I think we can go and win this. The worst case scenario for this game is no longer losing though. It’s losing an important player for the next few games. Need to keep our heads.

Joelinton needs to chill so he doesn’t get sent off.

COME ON

I’ve changed my mind about this game about 20 times this week. The only thing I feel sure about is 1-3 goals per team. I’d be shocked if either side fails to score.
-
That’s being kind. Pretty sure he went past him with ease on multiple occasions. It’s the worst type of matchup for Big Dan.
-
It’s an 11:30a kickoff here and it feels like the longest morning of my life.
-
We were also missing Bruno for multiple games in all of those stretches.

Liverpool seriously act like they play by a different set of rules and it all comes from Klopp. It’s like the spoiled parents of a bunch of spoiled brats.
-
Arsenal are far better than both of them.
-
I'm honestly surprised the Premier League hasn't forced the issue. It's a valid complaint for away fans and if Newcastle fans got stuck at the top of Old Trafford or the Emirates there would surely be complaints.
-
An Arsenal friend of mine thinks 5-7 goals in this one and I’m inclined to agree. Really could be one of those games.
-
Easily Liverpool. I think only Sunderland () and Chelsea would make that a tough decision for me.
-
If they were to lose today it would become somewhat interesting.

When’s the last time this Arsenal team won a big game? - City x2 this season lost 7-2 on aggregate and also lost to them in the FA Cup - Europa League knockouts they are in a great position second leg at home and go out on penalties. - They give away a 2-0 lead at Anfield a month ago. - Last year at SJP four days after getting demolished by Spurs in a massive North London derby. - Lost 2-0 at home to go out of the League Cup semis to Liverpool last season. - Europa League semis in 2021 they need a single goal at home and can’t get it. I guess you could count the derbies this season, but Spurs are a mess. On the whole Arteta’s Arsenal has not been a team that rises to the occasion.

I’m doing the opposite. I refuse to play that song until it’s confirmed. And then the whole fucking neighborhood is going to hear it.
-
Have you watched them? They are not hitting form in the slightest. They are decidedly unimpressive.
-
They really could have no complaints if they had gotten 3 points from their last 3 games. Or even 4 from 4.
-
Feels like there's one good Fulham chance left in this.
-
If we were on equal points or chasing them right now it would be infuriating. Hopefully we can look back at this and laugh about how they pathetically failed at catching us despite getting every decision in their favor.
-
I think while they obviously enjoyed it some of the team were probably relieved when it was over too. Longstaff's quotes about the lead up to it, sorting out tickets, etc. Probably worst for him and Burn. We were also just not in good form at the time.

The thing that should really settle the nerves is the future of the football club isn't at stake*. We were lucky to bounce back quickly from both relegations. I'm not sure where we'd be if we were in the Championship this season with Mike Ashley still here. The Ashley era was grim, but it honestly could have been much worse if not for Hughton, Rafa, and some of the players in those seasons. We now have a team with the togetherness of the Hughton Championship squad, but with real talent and a wonderful manager. I look forward to every single one of our games and in many cases I don't want them to end. We're on track for one of the 15 or so best seasons in the history of NUFC and it's not going to be a one-hit wonder. There are people behind the scenes working to improve every single aspect of the club. We may do bigger and better things in the future, but I'm certain the 2022/23 season will be remembered as a favorite alongside the Keegan and SBR years. * In some ways it is of course because CL football would greatly accelerate plans, but regardless the future is bright.

A Chelsea friend of mine referred to their situation as “extraordinary circumstances” to which I questioned exactly what that meant…
-
I wish Chelsea had a few less points on the board. They could legitimately be in the relegation mix.

Yup, seems there were not as many draws back then. The three with 8 losses are: 1995/96, 1996/97, and 2003/04. 1904/05 - 9 losses in 34g 1906/07 - 9 losses in 38g 1908/09 - 9 losses in 38g 1924/25 - 10 losses in 42g 1948/49 - 10 losses in 42g 1926/27 - 11 losses in 42g If we go unbeaten the rest of the season then we'd match the 2009/10 Championship season for fewest losses regardless of division.
