Tempting fate here, but after watching them play Liverpool I don't see how they can possibly sit back and defend successfully. Unless we just blitz them from the beginning it may take a little patience, but I genuinely think a slaughter is coming.

I believe Rangers have a higher coefficient, so most likely they'd be in pot 3 and Celtic would be in pot 4 with us.

I think we have a little ways to go to cement ourselves in the top 4/5. But hopefully yes.

That format actually seems more like UEFA caving to broadcasters, not the Super League concept. I assumed Pot 1 clubs would have a competitive advantage. But this is more about creating marquee games and extra knockouts, which UEFA will use to increase rights deals. The rich are going to get richer.

That’s actually more equitable than I assumed it would be. And not playing same country is a plus.

That’s such a dumb format. The only positive is you get to play 8 teams you wouldn’t normally play instead of 3. But qualifying for the CL just to play Arsenal and losing the home/away aspect is far less enjoyable.

Agreed, I’d love some examples (pre-PL also) of anything remotely close. It’s hard to imagine a worse season in top flight history relative to expectations / spend.

I don’t think anyone would be suggesting we sell ASM if he was one of Eddie’s favorites. I wouldn’t be upset if we kept him, but I think it’s more likely than not that he goes.

That’s not really qualification. It’s a knockout style method to declare a champion. Though the NBA did just add a qualification playoff to figure out the last couple teams in the postseason.

His one-footedness will always drive me crazy and I do think it played a huge role in how predictable we became at times. I think it hurts us more in games we are dominating possession and needing to break a team down. But he was spectacular yesterday. Great to see.

This is so cool. If Messi goes back to Barca it's going to be hard to not want to see him running around SJP. Almost all of pot 2 is exciting. Really like the idea of Rangers.
