I'm saying that with the assumption we'd do it because it would give us the ability to bring in another. I like Miggy, but selling players like him to finance improvements is how we're going to climb the ladder.
-
If it allowed us to sign Harrison, Ramos, Maddison, or a DM then we definitely should.
-
This would honestly be excellent if the fee was sufficient. Doubt it happens though.

Emerson Palmieiri to West Ham officially done. That one was 24 hours from "here we go" to officially signed for those on Romano watch in the other thread.
-
He has a YouTube channel with over 1M subscribers, writes for the Guardian, and has the paid daily briefing newsletter with Caught Offside. He's doing just fine.
-
For sure. But one has better info than the other.
-
Gordon to Chelsea would surely make at least one player immediately available.

Your opinion about him was probably pretty accurate years ago. But as his reputation has grown he’s built contacts upon contacts over the years. You probably won’t agree with this statement, but I like him and Ornstein because they are helping to fix one of my least favorite things about football media — transfer gossip. I’ve never been able to understand why it was seemingly accepted that football journalism was allowed to operate as tabloids. Poor reporting based on bad information or just made up. This is completely different to how sports are covered in America - if news comes out it’s real (occasionally a story ends up being wrong but it’s for legitimate reasons). The world of Twitter and fast news cycles created a cottage industry of news breakers (Adam Schefter for the NFL, Adrian Wojnarowski for the NBA, etc). These people are paid a lot to be first and to be accurate. When they tweet something like “Tom Brady is un-retiring…” your first thought is “holy shit” not “is that true?” You can hate the “here we go” but he’s putting his own name and reputation on the line when he does it. He’s built a brand based on reporting / relaying real information, which was/is needed in the mess of transfer rumors and gossip that has been the standard.
-
Yes, because as has been said by others the local journos are largely relying on NUFC sources and it’s all pretty quiet. In a made up world where a transfer only involved our club you probably wouldn’t hear a word about it until it was done and announced by the club or by Ando.
-
Is there something that makes him not an actual journalist? Is it because he doesn't have a byline in a dying newspaper? And do you honestly believe he has no sources?

This will obviously end with Edwards saying something like "The deal is now done after a compromise was reached on the add-ons" when it was actually done when Romano and others said so.
-
FWIW, Romano gave a "here we go soon" about Sarr yesterday (i.e. not the official here we go) and then a few hours later said it was in jeopardy due to personal terms.
-
So, as his theory goes, someone at Watford has leaked the news to Romano in an effort to influence Newcastle to close the deal.
-
This is verbal vs. written offer all over again. It's become quite obvious we don't say much of anything to anyone anymore. The information comes from agents and other clubs, which is why Romano has had this all along.
-
His mentions are just a stream of people laughing at him and pointing out that Romano is never wrong. Outstanding.
-
Everyone relax, it's done. Edwards will "break" the news when he gets the press release from NUFC.
-
It's obviously done. He's had the inside track the entire time on this one. Everyone else is playing catch-up.
-
"That wasn't my information 10 minutes ago." Fucking guy is doing Google News and Twitter searches.
-
If that's the case and Gallagher is now in the mix for them then CHO will be very available. I'd be happy with that, ideally as the third new player. Pedro, CHO, and a CM.
-
If you want to be fair about how the game went we didn't just go toe to toe with them in the first half. We outplayed them.
-
Need Gerrard or Lampard to have some moderate success and then there will be nothing to worry about.
-
He’s pretty terrifying to be up against. He’s going to score an unreal amount of goals in the next couple seasons.
