Just pretend we paid 25m for Trippier and 12m for Wood. or 35m and 2m…

Announcer: “big centre-half just gets up in my day”

Sounds like it’s more a story about Boateng anyway.
-
Same. On Oct. 3 they beat West Ham and had 12 points. They picked up another 8 between then and Dec. 10. Since then they have 1 win in 8 (no draws). In the next month they play Palace, Newcastle, Norwich, and Burnley (+Arsenal) with three of those at home. They will be right in it if they don't pick up 4-5 points from those.

Trippier said he’s never played in an atmosphere like the one last night. “Honestly, I’m not just saying it, something I’ve never experienced in my career. The fans was unbelievable tonight.”
-
Giving it a 7/10 and a 10/10 for effort as others have said. It's actually quite impressive what they were able to do with such little time and no experience. Amazing what some professional people who give a shit can do. Obviously would have liked a striker or Lingard, but we've still made great improvements. I posted this in the transfer thread, but it's a firehose:

In both directions fortunately.

Great post and I do think the impact the new players may have in our attack is being overlooked. Per 90 stats from fbref: Bruno (percentile) vs. Willock 7.45 progressive passes (98) vs. 2.17 (5) 8.04 progressive carries (97) vs. 3.57 (43) 3.50 shot creating actions (96) vs. 2.38 (73) Trippier vs. Manquillo 7.62 prog. passes (99) vs. 1.42 (1) 2.88 prog. carries (11) vs. 1.28 (1) 2.03 shot creating actions (66) vs. 0.64 (1) Burn vs. Lascelles 3.19 prog. passes (67) vs. 1.10 (4) 2.32 prog. carries (44) vs. 0.59 (2) 0.79 shot creating actions (77) vs. 0.25 (9) Targett vs. Dummett 5.67 prog. passes (93) vs. 1.65 (14) 2.87 prog. carries (10) vs. 1.15 (13) 2.03 shot creating actions (67) vs. 0.43 (35) Now if you want to argue, particularly in the case of Burn and Targett, that their stats from the last year would be significantly worse had they been playing in Steve Bruce's Newcastle I would definitely accept that. But the fact is we have four players coming in who have demonstrated they can be a dramatic improvement in terms of getting the ball forward and creating chances. Bruno alone may transform the team and the way we are able to play.

Including wages they are looking at getting close to 10m for a player they have no use for. And if that turns into only ~5m then we're relegated and they are probably happy with that too. Seems like it would be really dumb on their part to pass on this.
-
No one would be upset about Wood if he didn't cost 25m, but that was the only way we could get him and it will be worth every penny if he even scores just a couple goals that help keep us up.
-
I've wanted this to go through since the window opened. Honestly probably overrating him at this point, but I think this would assure safety along with the other signings.
-
Especially when one of them is a player that no one would have imagined coming here.
-
Even if we offered 100m I don’t see how Everton could sell to us.
-
DCL would be spectacular
-
ASM vs HBA probably a better debate.

I’m thinking the Encanto craze hasn’t hit the UK yet since this hasn’t been mentioned. One of the most popular songs in America right now is “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” Six foot frame, stripes on his back When we call his name it all fades to black He sees our dreams and feasts on our screams Let us talk about Bruno-no-no-no, Let us talk about Brunooo
-
The gap from 17th/18th to 9th/10th is really not that big. Certainly doesn't take 400m. You really just need a solid 11, a reasonable squad, and a manager that knows what he's doing. To consistently go up from there is a whole different ballgame.
-
My guess is it would be Willock that misses out if Bruno, Joe, and Shelvey are fit.
-
When I read this yesterday I thought the bonus for staying up would be paid to Lingard. Man Utd can fuck right off with that demand.
-
Some really nice through balls on the ol Tube. If this goes through, my kids will be beside themselves that we've signed someone named Bruno-no-no-no.
-
It sounds like this would be our best signing in absolute ages in a position we desperately need. This has to happen.
-
Willock looks like someone with no confidence.

The way Howe just looked at Almiron made me want to run through a wall.
