They did do that but they were also an integral part of our return to the top flight. As Pardewesque as it may be they at least have a fuck and weren't just mercanaries
-
I'm not surprised people are being overly harsh though. Are you? 8 fucking years of this shit.
-
Tbh I'm having nowt said against Nolan and Barton. We had players with character (particularly these two) and a dressing room scared to not perform. Now we have want away players, mercanaries and players who are simply too inadequate.

We're a 10 at present. A dead cert with Vile

"We need all 52,000 behind us at the next game" Fuck. Off.

He has shares in JD? Ffs
-
Exactly this. People's berating of him is just a bit pathetic at times tbh.

I don't want to make a habit of agreeing with Ron but I totally agree with the above. McClaren's not a bad person, he's just utterly useless. Agreed

Except Colback isn't as good at tackling is 200% left footed and always liable to make a ridiculous error. Anita offers more in every aspect of his play. Albeit not much more. Colback has a better goal scoring record. I think they're both out of their depth as Premier League footballers. They prove that week in week out. Fair play with that. Neither would be in a good 11 in the Premier but Anita is still the better out of the 3 I mentioned, for me. He's a good squad player to have for a 7-12th place team. We just don't have the players or the players with the right attitude to keep him out the first 11.

If he had a powerhouse beside him his lack of passing range would be even more obvious. He's decent technically in that he has a good touch and can pass the ball short with good accuracy but he can't stretch a game with a pass or get in behind a defence He tidies up nicely though. With a powerful box to box midfielder and competent wingers he wouldn't need to make 30 yard worldy passes. He isn't anywhere near Cabaye standard but he's certainly the best out of him, Colback and Tiote. In an ideal world he'd have Sissokos physicality and we'd have have a quality play breaker and you could play Wijnaldum with him and give him attacking license. Again we'd need competent wingers though.

Could desperately do with 3 points going to Liverpool tonight too
-
I'd probably agree with that. On a squad basis certainly.
-
Anita is a good footballer but lacks physicality. You don't tend to be a technically poor football player coming from Ajax. With a powerhouse alongside him and competent wingers I reckon he'd be alright.

I don't really want to get into hounding McClaren out 'cause for me, we did that with Pardew and we got Carver. The cunt at the top is the issue. I doubt we'll get owt better than McClaren now whilst Fatty McTwatty is the owner

Tbh 90% of the managers who would want to manage us under Ashley would have failed equally. The Ashley poison is so deep rooted it's now in the dressing room and changes are required from top to bottom. Relegation will initiate a clear out of the bottom, staying down will hopefully initiate a clear out at the top. Such a shame that this is what it will take for us to rid NUFC of this cancer

I know it's probably a bit bad timing to whinge about it like. It just feels like not being attached to it would be so much easier. That being said I don't want to detach myself from it. For every 10 bad moments the euphoria of that one great moment that turns up after is worth every bit of it. For people like Pav, Jonas, Sir Bobby, Shearer, Tino, Nobby, the list goes on...heroes in their own right.
-
RIP Pav! You should be idolised by any young foreigner wanting to make his way at Newcastle United. Goalkeepers especially! Pavel is a Geordie!
-
Everything is bad news these days with the Toon. What with Pav dying, Gutierrez and his cancer, MH17, relegation fights season upon season, Mike Ashley raping the club. Coincidentally it coincides with the death of SBR - since then everything has gone to shit. :(
-
That's purely down to the new trend of formations I reckon like.
-
It's just the Leicester team really isn't it? They've surpassed everyone's expectations

For me two competent wingers are the most vital thing to buy in January but as we all know that won't happen. Two wingers that can get box to box and attack as well as defend. Provide more cover for our full backs and thus strengthening us defensively, whilst creating competition for CM places in midfield and more options. Our squad is fucking terrible, we don't have one in fact. We have no options to change things up and the same old dross is served up week on week. Colback starting every game says it all, we're like the fucking Mackems of about 4 years ago...
