  1. Hows that? The West Ham player who was offside was at the other side of the box and not in front of the keeper. The West Ham player blocking the keepers view was in line with the Sunderland defence. Well as I've already said, I've had a few, but on the sideways on view looked to me that the player who let the ball through his legs to deceive the keeper had at least a foot the wrong side of the six yard line.
  2. Now I've had a few, and wouldn't normally stick up for the makems, but that's offside. Much more clear cut interfering with play than Tiote's effort against Man City.
  3. Too right. Clear elbow, missed by the officials.
  4. Watching the periscope feed of the Barnsley game, it sounded to me like "whey ye knaa" has been changed to "we knaa".

You wouldn't have Defoe? I mentioned this to the reasonable makems at work last week- Pickford looks like a real prospect, not his fault he's currently trying to keep the score under double figures and Defoe is still the man who could singlehandedly keep their heads above water. They don't rate Pickford.

    England

Is this the worst England kit ever? I think so. Red socks :anguish:
  7. Sure that was 74 mate, i think I've got a magazine (or whatever) somewhere with a photo from the directors box with the caption, "We lost, but what if had won?" Sounds like the cup final return of 1974, I was there too, also in the West Stand.. Think they started the metro tunneling around about then, so that would explain the wooden fences round the monument.
  8. My thoughts exactly. He never has full control of the ball, it's so frustrating to watch. Sissoko was similar, but much better, due to his strength and athleticism, literally bulldozering his way through at times.
  9. I find it staggering that people would take promotion over a cup. This club has won ONE trophy in my lifetime. I'm old. Fairs cup? or you are an old bugger It's the new generation unfortunately, there brought up that the premier league is the be all and end all but in reality it's not. The football league has 92 teams in it not 20 Of course staying in the top division is the aim(whatever they call it) but it's not success, not really silverware is I'd do anything to see us win a cup, who remembers that team that finishes 17th and just stays up? Nothings guaranteed but I do feel that if we don't get promoted this year, we will eventually, it will just take longer Fairs Cup, I'm not THAT old. And it was a major achievement at the time, an absolute disgrace that it's been downgraded in recent years.

    Football pet hates

The godawful standard of punditry / commentary in football. I'm sure this has been gone over many times in the past, but watching the games today has made me despair.

You think so? Not these days. Their fanbase changed around about the time they left Roker Park. You used to be able to get a bit of sense out of most of them, we had a lot in common in the old days. Don't know whether it's the rise of social media or what, but even lads I've known for years have started spouting the sort of nonsense you'll see every day on RTG.

  13. Rooney spent a large part of the game arguing with the referee. He was also filmed still going on about something in the tunnel, as the players came back out for the second half. It's getting more embarrassing than his hair

Can't imagine he would have sat on the bench and watched the match if he'd had bad family news tbf.
  15. About fuckin time. What was Djiliboji doing there? He got away with one like that in the first half.
  16. Stoke have been dreadful here, can't string two passes together, getting beaten to every 50-50 ball and woeful in defence for both goals.

    Alan Shearer

They've been talking about this on Soccer AM this morning and phoned Shearer to ask him why it doesn't show his usual open palm celebration . Al said it was a reference to his last goal in football and they showed the pen against the makems and the subsequent finger point.
  18. Full time. Nothing to worry about there from either team.
  19. Ridiculous rule to be fair. Ok, the player should be booked if inciting opposition fans, but he was clearly celebrating with his own.

Every year the same old shit. Wanker Cram gets his little digs in about Newcastle and brain dead Bren hasn't got the wit to put him in his place.
  21. Just came in to this news. Normally I'm not too bothered about this "good business" shit when selling players, it's only good business if the money is reinvested wisely, but £30m for Sissoko??!!
  22. Mainly cos I'm pissed and on my phone. Anyway, dreadful tackle aside, he's not good enough is he?
  23. I've not read every post but the majority just think he's a c*** and don't want him to sign. Valid and well thought responses, I think. Yep, that's the truth. There's a reason why most think this way, and I don't need to attach the requisite gif.
