Laugh out loud while it lasts mate. Remember this is Sunderland's best team in, what is it, sixty years?
-
Bringing on the cavalry now, four forwards for the last twenty minutes...what could possibly fail?
-
Defoe's first touch there was top class. Great movement, great goal.
-
Of course he's got a song lined up for if they win, the fat headed oaf has had nearly a year to think about it.....and it'll be something entirely cringeworthy like Who Let the Dogs Out. The inbred knackas will lap it up and it'll just give us one more reason to look down on them. ...hope it doesn't happen like
-
And who was that Messiah who was caretaker manager when they actually got relegated....? Joking apart, I've always had a lot of time for Bob Stokoe, he had a far longer career at Newcastle than at Sunderland and won the same amount of trophies at both clubs. ....oh, and he was a lifelong Newcastle fan. Bet that isn't inscribed on his statue.
-
He loves Newcastle(copyright Newcastle Online Forum) so will probably not get the best of receptions this time. Where's my Shearer "messiah" quote you scummy mackem weasel. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2358179.ece Ooops. Bullshit. Another made-up-to-suit- their-agenda Sun "quote", they and Sky have got a history of it with our fans . I suppose you think the letters page is real as well. By the way, the Messiah shite was a Sunderland invention referring to Bob Stokoe. Have a look at the Stokoe statue the next time you're at the SOS.

Got caught by Carr FFS.........had ten yards on him from the half way line

Pretty much every club used to sing it. For some, like Milwall, it's still part of their regular repertoire. Second verse is usually "Kills the bastards two by two" "Shoots the bastards with a gun" or "Let him out to kill some more." This. I remember hearing it at grounds all over the country in the late '70s / early '80s.
-
Could be the last time either play for them. Not to worry, they can play Sulley Muntari's Champions League winners medal up front next season.
-
He called Coloccini "Cudicini" at one point too.
-
I thought that aswell
-
Fuckin helll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is even more cringeworthy than the "get your season ticket now" ad from the '90s - and we took the piss for years with that one!
-
Couldn't agree more.

Nerve-wracking as owt was that day. I can remember Dabizas getting away with a blatant handball after we'd gone 1 ahead. Did Shearer get them both that day - first one was a pen wasn't it? I know it was 2-0 aet... Can't remember anything about that match (well apart from that goal) but after reading this I can now remember, watching it at home and, the handball being clear as day. Think Dabizas's handball was at 0-0, then Sol Campbell did exact same thing and we got pen. I was in the upper tier at the side, whole crowd jumping up and down chanting 'Ruud Gullit' and could actually feel it bouncing, remember Shearer commenting on it. You were obviously one of the chaps I was looking up at... ...and me! We were right under the top tier in the North Stand, and the whole concrete deck was bouncing about 6 inches. The middle tier we were in was swaying about that much it felt like standing on a surfboard. Thank f**k for the six pints or so consumed before the match, or I'd have been bloody terrified. One of the Man U stewards came over and said "it's never like this when United are at home!" I'll never forget that last 20 minutes -"Ruud Gullit's Black and White Army"
-
That's the one for me - best game, best result (considering the opponents) and best atmosphere I've ever witnessed.
-
............is a very neat summation. The 1990's were by far the best period to be a Newcastle fan in my nearly forty years of supporting the club. My Dad agreed with this, he rated Keegan's side as the best he'd ever seen, even though he saw us lift the FA Cup in '55 and the Fairs Cup in '69. My old Granda on the other hand, was a boy in the Edwardian era and saw us win EVERYTHING, three league Championships and two FA Cups.
-
Anyone who votes for anything other than the 1900's knows nothing of the history of our club. At that time we really were "the greatest team the world has ever seen"
-
Plenty of legroom in the back of the Gallowgate. I'm 6' 1" and don't have to get up when people want past.
-
Good timing that....2-2
-
Yes. Apparently the guy's been arrested. Aye got pushed over and a bloke got arrested. These c***s should be made to play the next derby behind closed doors. Cheers I can't believe how often this happens. I hope the club are stung up for it. Maybe Bruce and Quinn will accept they're a classless bunch of seasiders. Surely an assault on a prem player is something the FA cannot ignore. Massive punishment. Has to be. f*** all in the news though Happens every time - nothing ever done. If the boot was on the other foot you'd have hundreds of makems ringing the BBC, phoning their MP, demanding that we were punished. We're not that small time.
-
Absolutely. Just about everyone would have taken 1-1 at the start. It took a fluke goal to beat us. And in a match with Smith replaced by Guthrie, they STILL couldn't beat us. "...6-2 TO THE GEORDIE BOYS ... "
