do the club not give the attendance as the number of season ticket holders plus casual cash/card buying fans as the place could be half empty but still post 48,000 including spuds fans If it looks half empty on TV and they announce it as 48,000 they're going to look stupid on national TV. If it's a big disparity I would imagine they'll not announce it at the game.

I think we've got the best we're likely to get out of the press. Yes the pubs will make money but they would have had people in anyway without discounting

Two fantastic things to take from that: The symbolism of the pubs offering discounts and getting on board The 'this is only the start' bit. It would be good to see city councillors, MP's etc turn up to show that the city really is united behind this.

That's greek to me, what does it mean? That he has borrowed money from...? He has borrowed money from Barclays and used the Premier League Money as Security (a guarantee of the money existing). Could have been done for a number of reasons. I.e. he wants money to spend now but it will be paid in installments over the course of a 3 year period under the premier league contract. Seem to remember Shepherd being slaughtered for doing that. To be fair Dave Shepherd din't just do that he ha already spent money that was owed to us for the next few years from sponsorship. This has just been done on a short term basis. I'm not defending Shepherd for a minute. It was a thinly-veiled dig. strange that because I felt like I was defending Ashley. I feel dirty now
