Brilliant in there tonight, i'd say the best away day i've had following the toon yet, really didn't expect there to be a party atmosphere like that. Was funny to watch the stewards putting some big hits in on guys to keep them from getting onto the pitch only for others the get on through the gaps they left! What I don't get was what they were going to do once they'd stopped them?! At one point there was quite a small steward hanging onto the leg of a big bloke until he looked down and gave him a 'what the f*&$ are trying to do?!' look and the steward let go. Also from the first wave of those to try and get on only an old boy in an nufc 4 life top got past the stewards and he got to about the 6 yard line before turning to see there was no one else getting on and checking his run to wait for a few others to join him! Prior to this everyone was singing 'we're getting on there' (to the tune of the fat cockney bastard song) and the stewards looking very worried! I hung back a bit and then when i went on walked straight into Joey Barton whom i proceeded to bear hug. Poor bloke was loving the attention although really didn't want to be put on the shoulders of a group of lads who got hold of him. The lads to my right were class, all topless and at one point were holding up greggs wrappers, singing 'geordie pasties' magic! Could go on, the memories will last a lifetime, you don't get nights like that in the premiership! Mention to Argyle as well for the banner and then playing toon songs afterwards, that was class like. Sorry if this makes no sense, i have had a few and am on a mobile!

Plymouth Argyle v Newcastle United - Monday 19th April @ 7:45pm

Thanks Shame if true as im sure he'd love to be, and indeed deserves to be, out there with the rest of the players at the final home game but on the other hand it may give Chris a chance to make a final decision on whether to try and keep Fitz Hall or not. -

I read Colo is out for the rest of the season. Where did you read this? All i'd read was that he wouldn't make tonight but the noises being made suggested he'd be back for Ipswich. -
What's this e-mail people are talking about? Im about on the 22nd and quite fancy being involved! Was it sent to all season ticket holders or just some?! I didn't get the email inviting ST holders to get free access to that newcastle world thing either! Anyone fancy forwarding it to me please?

Any idea how many are there? -
Have just read what he said and also can't believe the reaction. He has clearly just been asked a question about his injury and has answered it. I for one am glad that he is keen to get back and playing. If i had read the article before reading some of the reaction to it I wouldn't have thought twice about what he said.

This - only problem is if last time is anything to go by it is going to be worse at Plymouth and this is when we will most likely win the league on Sky! Shola was poor all night, really couldn't be bothered. I dont like Hughton's habit of starting 4-5-1 and then changing to 4-4-2 when we are trying to close a game out. Shola should have been dragged off for AC and routledge should have been left on, that way we would have had two wingers on as outlets and would have had much more chance of killing the game on the counter. Also is Nolan now suspended for 2 games for picking up 10 bookings? If so would like to see Barton start in the centre but would be a real shame if Kev missed the Ipswich home game after all he has done this year.

Newcastle vs Blackpool - Saturday 10th KO 15:00
durhamunigeordie replied to Skirge's topic in Football
We've led all season and I want to see us finish it in style by clinching the title. It may not be anything to party in the streets about but i'd much rather win the title than finish second. With the exception of one (maybe 2) none of our players will be going to the World Cup in the summer and so will have plenty of time off to recover. I would personally see it as a bit of an anticlimax if we started resting a lot of players, lost a couple of games and finished 2nd rather than finishing unbeaten at home, breaking the 100 point barrier and winning the league by say 10 points or so. -
Newcastle v Sheff Utd - Monday KO 19:45 Live on Sky Sports
durhamunigeordie replied to a topic in Football
Also Sheff U are only brininging 700 which will knock the crowd down by 2k. Therefore i'd be suprised if it was 50+ unless they open up those blocks not taken by the away fans to those who pay cash on the day. -
This although I thought Barton got a bit better as the game went on (certainly for a period after his goal) and was also stuck out on the left which we all know is not his best position. Was by far Leon's best (See what i did there?!?!) game for us so far although that is not saying alot. He did show strength and the ability to turn and get a shot off a couple of times. Have a sneaky feeling that he is the kind of player who score goals in Chopra-esque spurts although am very dubious as to whether he will be able to do this in the Premiership.

We've been top all season and shouldn't even contemplate unforced rotation until the league title has been secured. There is however, in my opinion, a difference between 'rotating' players in order to give those who don't normally start many games and leaving out players, who have played 40 odd games in a season, and would benefit from a 'rest' rather than playing 2 games in 3 days. Tactically they are different and I would only find the later acceptable until the Championship is signed, sealed and delivered.

Portsmouth FC in yet more trouble - administration again?
durhamunigeordie replied to GG's topic in Football
Anyone think there is any chance we might act quickly and buy someone off them with next season in mind? PL clubs may be reluctant to do so due to the fact that they cannot actually play for them until next season and so perhaps this could be an opportunity to nip in and buy someone like belhadj, beh haim, prince boateng? (I don't believe for one moment that we will just wondering really if there is any of their players people would like to see!) -

It doesn't quite fit with the words no but you can make it fit to the tune if you say it quickly enough, your just being picky!
