  7. WHat would sky sports do without us, i think the reason we dont have a Newcastle Utd TV is that Skysports news do it for us free

    The Kevin Keegan debate

I love these cliches where people say football has "changed". I didn't realise that the goals were bigger, or teams played with more players .............. I agree it's bullshit, it's not changed one bit! The only thing that's different is teams and managers over complicating the game instead of keeping it nice and simple. You would think Keegan had been out the game for 30 years the way some people are talking, Wasnt Keegans Man City team the first to beat Mourinho's Chelsea?

    The Kevin Keegan debate

Have you read his book? He says the reason he wanted to leave was because he felt he couldn't motivate the players anymore, he spoke to Terry Mac about it and got the impression that Terry thought he was right, he then spoke to Freddie Fletcher about it with a 'heavy heart' and Fletcher said that he too had doubts that Keegan could take them to the next stage. Fletcher set up a meeting with him and the rest of the board and Keegan told them his views, they then agreed he would stay on until the end of the season which was best for everyone, he ended up leaving sooner though because the PLC wasn't happy about floating with uncertainty over the managers job, they gave him the ultimatum to either sign a contract extension or leave now so he walked. To say he would never have left if the club hadn't of become a PLC is wrong, he would of left still just at the end of the season. I dont think you can knock Keegan leaving for those reasons, that team had took a big hit losing the title and the money wasnt there do build a new team.

    Kevin Keegan

Dont think so but dont think you need them after 5 years managing in the premiership
  11. Give Keegan a decent amount of cash and he will be a success, you really couldnt say the same about Big Sam
  12. Agree with that, if hes going to play for us get him in as soon as poss while the attention is on Keegan

Yeah he was at the boro away game as well with ashley! Wonder how quick this has all happened, like said about Keegan looks like he cant belive it himself!! Quite glad they didnt bring him out on the pitch, will be that much better on Sat when the grounds full!

    The impact of KK...

I think that team would give arsenal one hell of a game! 2-2 Ferdinand with both our goals
  18. Great game, only stoke of corse but the 1st game we looked out of our depth against them today with 10 men we outclassed them all over the pitch. how great was it to see our team line up without a heap of defensive midfielders!! N'zogbia man of the match!

    Kevin Keegan

Erm, he wasn't exactly a rousing success anywhere, was he. There were better options out there, is the point. Of course there are better options, but Ashley has decided to live the dream and if this means the release of gargantuan amounts of funds....Let's take that ride.... ...on the love rollercoaster. iam onboard to, gonna be a long wait until it begins on sat!

    The impact of KK...

This. Plus, those 2nd places were how long ago? exactly. He has one hell of a task on his hands. Expectations are going to be waaaay too high. The majority of people (not necessarily those on here) are going to expect him to get us in a similar position to where he left us. I'm not saying all Keegan-backers are like this, but I guarentee there will be some. And this attacking football business, if we honestly try to play like we did 11 years ago, we're facing relegation. The Arsenal team of 2008 would have totally raped the Newcastle team of 1996. Couldn't beat Birmingham last week. Seriously doubt it. You'd think some people on here want Keegan to fail, so they can tell us they told us so. The Birmingham team of last week had a better defence than 1996 NUFC. Darren fucking Peacock ffs. if birmingham city conceed less than 37 goals this season i will eat my own arse
