  7. I see you edited out your smiley. Was the other one a bit much? I stand by my comment. Palacios is meant to be a box to box midfielder but he hasn't scored a goal since he's been in England (doubt he has much assists either). As i said before, i rate him as a player but he's not the sort of player we need imho. The fact that he hasn't scored....doesn;t that tell you he's disciplined enough to sit tight and let better attacking players get about the business of scoring? Yep, that's what Alan Smith never scoring told me as well. Smith was a f***ing striker cum midfielder under Ferguson! If Palacios is a DM, then he's a f***ing DM. Simple You honestly think Palacios is a dm?. You're very wrong but whatever. Oh and Zokora also hasn't managed to score for us. Must be because he's a dm and he's doing all the defensive work, right? No, it's because he's a shit player playing for a shit club. hth
  8. M'Bia for £4m or £5m or however much it is - there is a signing I would be quietly pleased with.
  9. For fucks sake. Some of the people on this board are fucking clueless. Getting relegated would be one of, nay, THE WORST thing that could happen to us. Everyone seems to have this stupid fucking idea in their head that we'd bounce straight back up. What, like Derby, Watford, Southampton, Ipswich, Norwich, Charlton, Leeds, Sheff Wed and Sheff United all did? We can still clear out the shit players in the summer regardless of what league we are in, it just takes a manager with a bit of fucking sense, and at the moment, we don't have one. I said this in the match thread last night and I'll say it again: anyone who thinks there are ANY benefits to getting relegated is a fucking basketcase. Think about the fact that less people will buy season tickets, the club will be worth much less, the players who are left will have what bits of confidence they have left shredded again and then vapourised, the expectation level will be for us to get straight back up again, and I personally do not think that would happen, regardless of who we signed in the summer. All of the above would make this club an even bigger fucking disaster. The Championship is not a fucking part-timers league, it's a very hard League to get out of, and some people don't seem to understand the criteria for getting back to the PL from there: consistency and common sense. Does this club have either of those? No. Relegation would be like dropping an atom bomb on St James Park. Really. So don't even consider the bloody drop as a 'way out of the crisis'. Because it isn't.
  10. What like Owen to head a ball in from 6 yards out? He's missing all these chances and yet still gets picked every week (regardless of the injury situation) and he wants to leave, won't sign a new contract, and he's STILL in the team and never gets subbed (bar 1 time I think). The players behind him in the pecking order will just give up in training. No matter how hard they try to impress Kinnear, do you really think they are thinking "yeah, i'll get my chance because Owen is notoriously short of form!"? No, they will have no confidence. And that is what my entire post before covered. The lack of confidence. The first thing a captain needs is passion. The second is the ability to lead by example. Owen has neither.
  11. Another thing, (yes, another), far too many people on these boards and in the stands at SJP seem to forget the psychological side of football. Real life isn't just like Football Manager, where you can buy players who have the best ability and they play well after the third game despite not having any form of understanding. Xisco, shunned by Kinnear for week after week, thrown in tonight and told that it is "crunch time"? Kadar, Ranger and Donaldson, who can't even get a few minutes despite 12 players missing? Steve Harper, who won't even get a run out in a cup game? Losing again to a clearly inferior side at home, again, in front of angry fans? The squad's confidence must be on the fucking floor, and losing tonight just makes that even worse. The players are scared to try anything audacious, to gamble, in case they miss or do it wrong. Something different or audacious is just what we need, a moment of magic, a leader who takes the game by the scruff of the neck and says "fuck it, I'm going to try my best, go for the 10-90 balls and stick my neck out regardless of the outcome". And what do we have? A player who is currently missing chance after chance, offering nowt to the team and who clearly wants to leave the club as soon as he can? There are problems at this club from boardroom to dressing room, and the saddest part is, it will get worse before it gets better.
  12. out of that team only the 2 fullbacks and martins would get in tbh Bollocks. Barton would be playing too, I'd say that Shola would have started and we'd have a stronger bench too. Our best result (not performance, before someone argues that) of the season came away at Portsmouth when we had Harper, Geremi, Shola, Viduka, Duff, Taylor and another who I've forgotten now on the bench, the strongest bench we've had in weeks. Did we have that today? No, we had Harper and a bunch of kids, along with a half-fit Taylor and Carroll. And you clearly are underrating exactly how much Martins brings to the team, his pace and unpredicatbility would stretch the game and make it easier to move upfront. We had a fairly pedestrian attacking line today barring the final few minutes when LuaLua came on, again - that isn't a co-incidence.
  13. Some people are reading far too much into this by the way. A team with something like 11 or 12 players missing gets beaten in the cup by another teams reserve players. That automatically means we are going down, does it? Fuck off. If you think that's the case, try the RELEGATIONLOADOFSHITEOMETER and post in there with the rest of the doom mongers. Honestly, some of the people on these boards are fucking brain deads.
  14. Some of the idiots on here need a fucking full frontal brain examination. Going down to the Championship would be good would it? We'd 'bounce straight back up'? Like Derby, Watford, Charlton, Leeds, Ipswich, Norwich, Southampton, Wolves, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday all thought they would? Get a fucking grip. Relegation would be the worst thing to happen to this club, at all. I'd rather we lost this game and got three points pretty soon, but I'm still seething after that performance.
  15. And the likes of Alan Shearer 9 can fuck off with constantly berating people for posting their honest feelings, here's some more: You are a cuntbasket.
  16. I'm not even angry anymore, I'm sorry to report that I laughed when they scored.
