Was his career ever going to amount to much after he left us considering his age? Keegan sold Cole to bring in Ferdinand and I think he was possibly right. When KK and Terry McDermott were back last time around I think they admitted that wasn't the case, with Terry Mac saying he had whispered "oh no he doesn't" to Keegan on the steps as one fan was saying "we should back off, Kevin will have a replacement lined-up" (sic). I'll try and find the source, but have a feeling it was video rather than written. EDIT: Was actually from a Keegan talk-in: In terms of the question at hand here: I think Cole was better, personally, and became a better all-round footballer after he left us in addition to being a better goalscorer than Ferdinand anyway. I think they thought they could get Les if the sold cole, only to have to wait till the following summer, that season after we sold him in Jan? we slipped away in the league finishing 6th and looking devoid of any sort of central attack for many games. For me, the first half of the season where people are saying his form cost us the title, I thought he looked like one of the best ever players id seen here. His power and all round game puts him ahead of Cole for me. Cole was great in the promotion push, though I think we would have got there without him, and that first season back finishing 3rd, the goal scoring record. Never forget that night against Villa- but I never felt comfortable with him, always seemed 1 game away from walking out on the club. ( bit like KK i suppose ) Ferdinand for me.

What capable and self respecting goal scorer would go there? Depends how much Short is willing to spend I suppose. QPR got Remy this time last year but it didn't save them anyway. aye but howay man , West London vs Pennywell

Trying to take ferries with them.

At least they have easy home games in January like.

ha ha. no. people on here or just in-capable of saying good when good , bad when bad. he is all the good things people say about him no doubt. but his descision making, timing of keeping the ball/ passing are often wrong.
-
If you've busted a gut to find space a few times and he's not passed the ball I reckon it would put you off expending so much energy every time he gets the ball. He passes the ball when there's options available. ho doesn't.

i knew what was meant, RTG insults man. fwiw 1.16 pro rata is going to be pretty close to safe.

Mackem. 1.16 wont be over 38 games. Not sure how many games they played before he came, but it was more than zero.

was thinking the exact same today. -
The East and West paddocks could probably just be lifted out as they were added after the stands. yep- standing behind seats as some have suggested always feels off to me.

4 forwards. Cabaye dropped right back to almost a sweeper, and launched the ball to the forwards/ Ameobi. bypassing the midfield. I think.

Who was he winding up? I didn't see it so you might be right. Interviewer/ pundits/ press/people up the arse of the so called big clubs. was my immediate thought watching it.

I saw that interview today and think it was Pardew being a wum, had a wry smile when saying it.
