  1. pardew playing him in goal- new tactic?
  2. totally agree- my thinking is moderate investment after finishing fifth, would surely have paid itself back in terms of revenues increasing through lifting the profile of the club. Im certain the club can achieve a higher turnover and still be sensibly run within that- yet be doing more than we are now.
  3. 30 years ago we were in our 5th season? in the 2nd div. the club was on the up and pushing for promotion with Kevin Keegan . we went up the following season. At the top of the Game- Liverpool were as dominant- probs moreso than Man Utd are now. with the Likes of Forest Villa challenging, iirc Man Utd were no where near winning the league with Bo jangles in charge.
  4. Utterly pathetic decision if true. Being widely reported now. they after Pards?
  5. I think all ashley had to do, after last seasons 5th and europa qualification, was enough to get us 9th or upwards and perform in the cups. He didnt do enough.
  6. Dinnis Gordon Lee must have caused uproar when he left for Everton mind. Was it half way through the season or summit? yeah, half way through iirc. some couldn't stand him as he'd sold macdonald and hibbitt, some loved him as he had us doing well, we'd finish fifth and get into europe. and get relegated the following season.
  7. get in, a newcastle thread where I get to say, im too young.

    Alan Pardew

Tend to agree. He's sounding every bit as desperate as we are IMO. doesnt bode well either way. we havent even played today and things look worse.

    Talking to the owners tbh.
  10. looking to look like they are looking to spend is more likely.
  11. Awful answer. I liked it. Then you're both awful people. Getting rid of Ashley deemed as success? Absolutely disgusting attitude. It's fine to say that you see success as winning XYZ, something you don't see happening under Ashley, but when your definition of success is all about your dislike for the owner? It's just shite man. Awful awful craic. Semtex in other words: jeesus my lasses dad is Billy Madison

Awful awful craic. Give over man its obviously a bit tongue in cheek remark- that more ambitous owners would bring more success. When success for you is getting rid of the owners, then yeah, more ambitious owners would definitely bring more success. Less ambitious owners would too. eh whats with the name

  14. seriously tho- who would give a fuck about champions league place if we WON the europa instead?
  15. League stabilty and a real actual effort in the cup competitions we can realistically win. for a club our size turnover, crowds, 6m worldwide fan base, a league cup would be met like some sort of momentous achievement. Its hardly unrealistic. tbh the ownwership and players who weve had here should know- they've run the biggest failure of a football club in the world
  16. they are simply in this club for what they can get out of it. they will invest the bare minimum to keep us in the prem for the tv/ prize money. they will look at the parachute payments and income in the championship- then decide whats worth spending to preserve premiership status. they will rely on lots of transfer stories that amount to nothing to keep fans believing- and buying season tickets. If the fans get wise and stop buying season tickets, they will come up with different ticketing prices/ deals to find the new fans, eventually they will have sucked the fans and club dry. edit- they can do this due to the profile the club has from the sjh days, after long enough of this ownership- that will have evaporated, and the wider fan base moved on to the new top clubs.

we really must win this weekend.
  18. that reminds me of town centres- 70s and 80s there would be loads of blokes suddenly interested in looking at tvs in shops at final score on a saturday. literally crowds at the windows
