  1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thefootballtacticsblog/2011/10/newcastle_profit_from_pardews.html I've seen this article about our improvement in defending so far this season. Don't know if it's giggs but it's a good read. Didn't know Pardew coached the defenders while Stone and Carver work with the attackers.
  2. Some great crosses by Liverpool, shame it's Suarez trying to turn them in. Can't believe they haven't got Carroll on if this is the way they're going to try and break Man U down.
  3. Could a part of the reason for Fergies defensive set up be down to trying to shield deGea, due to the hostile atmosphere he's going to experience? He still seems a bit shaky.
  4. If this happens it'll be pretty pointless following the Premier League. Fucking Liverpool man, panicking because they know they wont get into the top 4 this season and will be left behind.
  5. Portugal didn't get through again? Just know we're going to get them again. Still would be better than Croatia, don't think I could stomach losing to them, uncles and cousins would never let me live it down.
  6. Wonder which team we'll be playing this year. Portugal got through, right? Can't draw those dicks again.yay.
  7. Man, if only Dzeko had put away that amazing chance he made out of nothing. The cunt.
  8. Hope Menez gets a proper tackle worthy of such a brilliant over reaction.
  9. Malouda deserved a yellow for his tackle as well.
  10. What? You mean that more than one player can be at fault for a goal!? Yeah I know, it's this revolutionary new idea that I'm pushing, I know it's crazy but I think it's got legs. What sorcery is this? He's a witch, burn him!
  11. Simpson is damned if he does go forward and damned if he doesn't. If he's going to make a 50 yard run then he's not going to be able to be able to turn around and run another 50 yards to get back. Our left side have been the best at covering each other for a while. Jonas, Enrique and Coloccini were always good at helping eack other out and playing as a unit. We still see this to some degree this season with Ryan Taylor being helped out by Jonas and Coloccini. We rarely see this on our right side and this isn't down to one player. The biggest problem I have with Simpson is his backing off and I can understand that a little because it will have been coached into him. I've been coached by professional footballers, one who played in and won a world cup as a defender and I was told never to dive in, Simpson takes that a little too far. Why? Because by the time you make the run back the other team have attacked, or if you keep doing it for the entire game you'll be absolutely shattered.
  12. He's not average though. When he's played a part in nearly every goal we've conceded this season (cups included, didn't see any of pre-season), for me that's well below average. I agree with Mick here, Obertan hardly gives Simpson defensive cover. Looking at our prem results you could blame Simpson for the goal yesterday and for the Fulham goal. Collocini was at fault for the Villa goal, and maybe the Blackburn goal as he didn't close down Hoilette fast enough. Although you could say the Blackburn goal was Raylors fault as well.
  13. Karl Henry did Zamora, not Dembele I think. Yeah you're right. Dembele didn't break a leg either, was only out for two weeks.
