  1. Simpson is damned if he does go forward and damned if he doesn't. If he's going to make a 50 yard run then he's not going to be able to be able to turn around and run another 50 yards to get back. Our left side have been the best at covering each other for a while. Jonas, Enrique and Coloccini were always good at helping eack other out and playing as a unit. We still see this to some degree this season with Ryan Taylor being helped out by Jonas and Coloccini. We rarely see this on our right side and this isn't down to one player. The biggest problem I have with Simpson is his backing off and I can understand that a little because it will have been coached into him. I've been coached by professional footballers, one who played in and won a world cup as a defender and I was told never to dive in, Simpson takes that a little too far. Why? Because by the time you make the run back the other team have attacked, or if you keep doing it for the entire game you'll be absolutely shattered.
  2. He's not average though. When he's played a part in nearly every goal we've conceded this season (cups included, didn't see any of pre-season), for me that's well below average. I agree with Mick here, Obertan hardly gives Simpson defensive cover. Looking at our prem results you could blame Simpson for the goal yesterday and for the Fulham goal. Collocini was at fault for the Villa goal, and maybe the Blackburn goal as he didn't close down Hoilette fast enough. Although you could say the Blackburn goal was Raylors fault as well.
  3. Karl Henry did Zamora, not Dembele I think. Yeah you're right. Dembele didn't break a leg either, was only out for two weeks.
  4. Really like the look of Dembele. He was class for Fulham last season until he broke his leg (was that Karl Henry?).
  5. I'm not saying the lad's Maicon ffs. He's an average fullback who backs off too much, not the anti christ.
  6. How do you know they would have led to goals? Simpson himself was to blame for the goal, btw. He was bloody terrible from the first whistle. What absolute shite, he made mistakes but he also made some good runs in the first half and made some vital interceptions. As for the goal comment, they would have lead to a one on one with the keeper from a few yards out, so a really, really, really good chance of scoring. That better?
  7. Some of the scores for Simpson have been unfair, I saw him make at least 3 vital interceptions / tackles yesterday which would have led to goals.
  8. Some Bosnian/Norwegian bloke on another forum. This is mint, if true. To be fair what he said: Jebem li ti majku, does mean I'll fuck your mother, but it's a common cuss word to say in the balkans. Like saying fuck really.
  9. Went to this with my gf, the food was ok but the tour was class. Well worth the money even if it's the shorter tour.
  10. Don't worry, Saylor will give him a good elbowing when the ref isn't watching.
  11. Really looking forward to this, it's my first match in my new seat at the Gallowgate. Think we'll shade it, but with some great football played. Hope Simo and Colo aren't feeling too knackered after the cup match.
  12. I'm going off confidence, Spurs are looking good now and they've got Wigan away next which should see a few goals. Also I just don't trust Kenny, the pressures mounting already. There's no doubt that Suarez will be involved in everything good Liverpool do, but I think (hope) Adebayor will do the same thing at Spurs, and as you said at 1.5 cheaper + Arsenal soon (I think he'll be well up for that one) = Adebayor for me.
  13. Worst week yet with 46 points. 17th in the NO league which is great but lost my cup match by 1 point! Subbed out Bent and Brought in Adebayor this week. My strikers look great with Rooney, Adebayor and Aguero. I've got 3 points in the kitty and will look to get in Young or Nani for N'zogbia who has just been awful.
  14. Played one game ffs Didn't break his wrist in the warm-up either
