Is it wrong that I'm starting to feel more negatively about this happening? The compensation talks fill me with fear. If you told Ashley after the Stoke game that he could lose Pardew for free, he'd have gone. Now, though, he'll see that as a defeat.

Because Palace's approach was unforeseen, Ashley is almost certain to go with Carver/Beardsley for a while. He doesn't tend to make rash moves, or act on a whim. His eventual appointment of Lawrie Sanchez will be well calculated.

I hate that - when lower league fans say they'd love to be in our position, so stop complaining. It's all in proportion. When Man Utd finished 7th their fans were rightfully pissed off at Moyes. Loads of teams would love to be 7th in the Premier League but it doesn't mean he was doing a good job and doesn't mean their fans have to accept it.
