  3. Notts County can fry and die. Stupid twats
  4. I've got Newcastle, Notts County and Bayern Munich. Its not much but I'm on a gigantic losing streak....need to get that money back!
  5. hey, at least one of them slipped up. it may be the wrong one, but winning these 2 home games could be massive for us.
  6. Not seen the team news.....is London Dinnervan playing?

Forest have got a horrible run of games so hopefully they can be banished out of sight. That F365 stats section is brilliant.
  8. hypothetically, if i put on an accy of 8 bets, is there a type of bet that lets me win a little bit even if i only get 7 correct?

    Points target

I posted this on a similar thread a couple of weeks ago. http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/2217/11089657.png Average 1st place: 94.2 Average 2nd place: 87.2 Average 3rd place: 82.4 Conclusions? Going from the last 10 seasons, 83 points is usually enough to finish above 3rd and hence get promoted. Playing it safe (say, 86 points) means we need 26 points from 16 games....7 wins, 5 draws, 4 defeats. I'd be very confident about reaching that (despite recent performances). All it needs is a similar 5 or 6 game streak to November/December and we're nearly there. Also, the trend suggests less points are needed each year, probably due to the teams being of more equal ability. .....sorry for the repetition. its probably better suited for here anyway
  10. What if the 7th place club qualified and knew they were guaranteed £40m for qualifying and spent the lot investing to make themselves competitive? If they didn't qualify for the next few seasons then they'll have a wagebill that they can't maintain. Depends on their wage structure though. If they had to move a player or two on then they wouldn't even feel the hit. Spread the wealth. At the minute the rich are getting richer and opening it up a bit has to be a good thing. Yeh spreading the wealth is a good thing. I guess there isn't a solution thats financially but competitively fair for everyone. Strangely enough, this season seems to be an anomaly because theres a genuine chase for 4th place. But with the differing financial situations at Liverpool, Man City and Aston Villa, maybe leaving things as they are for a couple more years could finally see the gap bridged.

  12. I really want to like the idea and the intentions are good, but I don't think this is the best solution (despite the excitement). Last season Fulham finished 7th and I wouldn't want them representing us in the CL (if they could fluke past 4th, 5th and 6th). I'm not against something fairly radical being introduced though, I think its essential to the evolution of the PL that we stop the monotony and the great gulfs that are forming. Just maybe not this idea.
  13. Its interesting to see how many people follow us because of Alan Shearer. But I worry where our future foreign support will come from because who do we have now? Shola? Brilliant....
  14. his footballing misery makes me smile. bearing in mind we only needed one more point to stay up, we'd definitely still be in the premiership is judas didnt leave. then in the summer, who knows, maybe arsenal would've been after him. i loved the guy while he was here, but the way he left leaves a very bitter taste.
  15. Harper Simpson Williamson Coloccini Van Zogbia Routledge Guthrie Smith Jonas Carroll Lovenkrands 3-1 win (for us)
  16. Stelling just confirmed the replay is on the 24th. so yeh, this'll be rearranged again.

    PROMOTIONOMETER

It's automatic promotion or nothing. We absolutely will not win the play-offs, don't even contemplate it. I'm hovering around 3 or 4 now. Optimistically, I'd hope that Carroll goal might spur them on like that 1-1 draw at Birmingham a few years back. I think we should get around 90 points, whether thatll be enough to go up we'll have to find out....
  18. (to the tune of fame) Remember my name...WAYNE!! Runs down the wing forever Crosses the ball in the box....BOX!! ....its a work in progress but it fits beautifully
  19. complete embarassment. completely undefendable. apart from colo and routledge, they should all be ashamed of themselves and unless they pull their fingers out, promotion will slip away. i actually can't believe they'd play like that!
  20. It should definitely be reviewed because many games have effectively ended once this happens and nobody wants that. Should definitely be penalty + booking. Feinting penalties need to be stopped immediately. Village Idiot has a good idea about a penalty regardless of where the foul occurs though. Shame it'll never happen....it's too radical for FIFA
  21. Just read a few brilliant World Cup facts: - Since 1978, only 5 teams have participated in a World Cup Final (Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy, France) - In 2006, no Western European teams lost to someone from another region in open play (Switzerland lost to Ukraine on penalties) - Argentina havn't defeated a Western European team in open play since the 1986 final
