Cabaye is easily one of the best players in the squad. If he was to be used right, coached so that he utilises his abilitys rather then running around like a headless chicken and laying as a 3rd centre half, we'd have a player on his hands. I'm unsure on Gary Neville. Whilst I do think he'll eventually become a top manager/coach, he's yet to have any coaching experience at a club. To pluck someone with so little experience straight from the Sky studio would be a huge risk. Couldnt see Ashley doing it. I've got a feeling Neville wouldnt take the job either, think he really wants to learn the trade and not just jump in at the deep end.

Fuck me, 50/1!? I can just about see the point of view of those wanting him to stay however. I think our fanbase is scared of sacking a manager. For years under Shepherd we clambered for stability, for years we've wanted a manager who will stay for years. Last season, it did look like we might have ourselves some much craved stability. A good side, organised and playing well. Not playing great football but getting results as well as what looked on the face of it, a good manager. This season it has gone tits up and we have been woeful, but I can still see why some people want to keep him on. For me, and plenty of others though, I just cant see it getting any better. Thats the whole top and bottom of it. He's got a good set of players there, prior to January I gave him the benefit of the doubt because of squad was bare thin, now however, he's got reinforcements yet he cant seem to fit them in and get us playing. It wont improve like, I'm sure of it. Dont agree with the revisionists saying we were playing crap football last season either. Granted, we weren't playing free flowing stuff but we were organised, disciplined and had a threat going forward whilst being solid at the back, everything we're not this season. Too play the way we were last season takes time, it takes work and if it's not happening now, it wont happen any time soon. The tides been slowly turning against Pardew now for a while, the faith in Pardew has evaporated now for sure and it's only a matter of time before he's gone in my book like.

His replacement is key. We wont sack him until the end of the season, so we've got now, untill the start of summer to find a replacement. So many comparing it to the Souness sacking, whilst I dont agree that his overall time in charge has been as soul destroyingly bad, it has got to the point where he desperately needs to go, like Souness did. We cant sack him and replace him with another Glen Roeder. MA needs to get this right.

Cant quite believe I've ventured into this collection of opinions that could only described as an abomination but what I will say is that regardless of how you rate this group of players, Alan Pardew is getting the absolute least out of them and has done all season. Not been calling for his head since the first slip up like some of the clowns in this thread but I really cannot see any progress from here. Needs to go in the summer for me.

He's fucking right though, turbomongs left right and centre in this thread every week. Having said that, I do think this is possibly his most important game yet for NUFC. Lose this and we're back in the mire, back under pressure and we dont play well under pressure. For us to have a good season next year, I really think we need to end this one on a high note. I think we need to be climbing the league and there needs to be an air of confidence and focus as the end of the season bares out. A poor end to the season will only see a summer of calls for him to go which for me will only translate into a poor start to next season and a subsequent sacking.
