A good season in spite of the window. Howe performed miracles last season. He can't be expected to keep doing so.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

Would love Brentford to go down. You've had your time in the top league, off you pop now. Same with Bournemouth. Replace them with proper clubs. -
João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)
Doctor Zaius replied to 54's topic in Football
Think we'll get Pedro. He wants off and Brighton are happy with him to go for the right price. I think Elanga is more important to Forest than he is to us, and as such our valuations wont be met. Hopefully we dont overpay. I think we'll come to and agreement for Trafford too - Burnley will take the money and fancy themselves to replace him. -
I think there's no chance of 125m for the three of them either

Baldwards rehashing what's basically common knowledge and covering all his bases at once

I think people predicting them to finish with a record low number of points are off tbh. Their football is way more suited to a PL relegation battle than Southampton, who came up and tried to play football or Sheffield United who were completely figured out under Wilder and he couldn't adapt. They sit in deep and hit teams on the break at pace. That alone will allow them to pick up results here and there. I think Le Bris fairly tactically astute too. Not that they'll stay up like, they'll go down without too much of a fight imo but I don't think it'll be an embarrassment.

Sign a player you cunts. It's been fucking years man

Its astonishing how Graeme Bailey is never right about anything. Obviously, he just posts bollocks and clearly has no sources, but you'd be able to get the odd thing right by just guessing. A broken clock and all that.. but no, basically nothing he's ever posted has came through in a reasonable timeframe. Should be banished to the Twitter nonsense thread.

Was with a few Forest fans over the weekend, who although said he's a good player and works well in their system, he's very much a player that plays on the break. He's less effective when teams are sitting in and ceding possession to us. Which is something we struggle massively against. Interestingly they also said Gibbs-White is also overrated. Goes missing in games and while there's flashes of brilliance, it's a little bit more sporadic than they want.

Give labourers footballers wages is a new one like

I would love this at NUFC only for the absolute fume it would generate from ST Holders. We might see our first bedsheet protest in years.

Wonder what root vegetable the press will portray him as?

Just seen England are playing tonight. Can only imagine how unarsed the players are, having to play Senegal in a friendly on June 10th like. Let them fuck off on holiday ffs.

João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)

If we're buying Pedro, he's not going to be a rotation player. Were not going to spend that amount of money on a player who doesn't go straight into the 11 with everyone fit. He's going to start. Either in a different position to what he normally plays at Brighton or Howe is going to change our system. I don't think we're after him though, I don't think Howe will tinker too much with our system and he doesn't seem to fit in with how we set up now. -

Spurs absolutely right to get rid of Ange. He's crafted the worst Spurs team I've ever seen. They were absolutely hopeless in the league and showed no reasons why they'd improve. Yes, he won the Europa League, but the chasm between the PL and the rest of Europe means Spurs had a budget that absolutely dwarfs all of the other clubs in the competition (aside from Man Utd). It's also weakened from no CL clubs dropping into it. They'd have been at worst, second favourites to win it all season. Based on facts and foresight, Levy is bang on to peddle him else he'd be gone by Christmas anyway when their woeful league form no doubt continues -
Hope it does. Giving it all high and mighty about our ownership while Textor owns multiple clubs across Europe. Fuck any dispensation, thems the rules. Its a clear conflict of interest. Forest shouldnt be allowed in the same competition as Olympiakos either.

Disappointed they didnt go for Ancelotti Jnr. Would have quite liked to see how he got on. -
Shame about this. Thought he was a perfect fit. Unless hes a fan, you have to question any player thats going there over a club in the Champions League like.
-
I'm in a minority but I'd take him as a backup striker on a reasonable financial package. He has ability and I think Howe could get something out of him. The thing that puts me off is his horrific injury record. It's obviously taken a toll on his body, how much is the question.

Can't believe they're going to keep Amorim like. Absolutely epitomises the sunken cost fallacy.

Delap will fancy himself to start as the main man at Chelsea. He wont be here. He's simply not going to be second fiddle anywhere. He was never a realistic option for us. Finding a forward, who is good enough to come in and perform in the games we rotate, yet will accept that Isak will be the main man will be the hardest job of the summer. I think you're looking at a forward who hasnt played enough to command a starting spot anywhere, or a player who knows their ability isnt at Isaks level and is content with playing second fiddle.

Reckon Mbuemo and Guehi would be two top quality additions.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League
Doctor Zaius replied to Rich's topic in Football
Did the CL Draw simulator and got: Home: Barcelona, Leverkusen, Monaco, PSV Away: Bayern, Villareal, Marseille, Ferencvaros Certainly some old foes there. Think we'd qualify from that too.
