  1. The age cheating debate is an interesting one. Not long ago I was told of 3 players that are heavily suspected of age cheating. Bartholemew Ogbeche, Ni Lamptey, Isaac Asare were the names. Only Ogbeche is still playing (valladolid?) I think. Most of the suspicsion is though brought about by the fact that at the youth world championships theres always African players that look capable of having the potential to become great yet normally fade away into nothingness once they've been signed up by European clubs. Who knows, maybe African boys are just more developed at a younger age...
  2. Wow there's a few blasts from the past in that list. Lawal, West, Babangida, Finidi, Ockocha... I'll always remember that Sunday Oliseh goal against Spain to knock them out in 98'. You missed out Mutiu (sp) aswelll, I seem to remember him being a canny player. Is Augustine Ockocha and Jay Jay Ockocha not the same person? Anyway to critisize them for not winning the ACN every other year is a silly and uninformed view. There are plenty of good teams in Africa. Cameroon, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt, Mali, South Africa, Ghana and The Ivory coast have all had good squads that could easily match Nigeria's over the years. African football has done well for a continent blighted by War and unstability aswell as most countries being 3rd world Africa has produced some of the worlds finest players.
  3. I'm not sure but he started against us in the champions league at the nou camp.
  4. I've seen him quite a few times in Newcastle. Just wanders around talking to random folk about newcastle and once he starts you cannit get away from him. He's obviously not all there upstairs and putting him in front of the cameras for a cheap laugh is a bit low like.
  5. Well despite what his critics he's done ok. He's dragged us out of the relegation zone from 19th to 13th and in my honest opinion I dont think we would have went down with him in charge. Interesting to see what will happen next footballing wise. p.s Thank you and get well soon Kinnear
  6. Or how about... Bassong Wherever you may be You eat Frogs in your home country Could be worse Could be a smog Sticking your cock in your sisters gob
  7. Who needs Quinny's disco pants, we've got Peter Lovenkrands la la la la.
  8. Jeez West Brom are bad. So so poor. Lovenkrands looks dangerous aswell.
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7856393.stm According to the BBC Martins isnt in the squad. Musnt have made it in time.
  10. I'm starting to get those derby day jitters now like. Each hour brings me futher to being a nervous wreck. With this derby being the most important since the 1990 play off I'm shitting myself. This one is about more than local pride it's about both sides trying to steer themselves away from the drop. If we lose we're in big big trouble. Having said that I'm pretty confident, dont know why because we're shit but I honestly feel that we'll take this one. Hopefully the players will realise the importance and be spurred on by what will be an Electric derby day atmosphere. HOWAY THE LADS!

  12. £6.99 For a Mug! Fucker me that half of they're Gyro gone!
  13. Tbh I'm sick and tired of all this board room bollocks. It can all sort its self out and when we've been bought or the club says something officially then I'll take intrest. Stuff the deadlines, and D-day crap SSN are reporting. At the minute I just care about the 11 men playing on the field.
  14. If Owen misses the Derby I think we're up shit creek without a paddle. Martins will only be half fit at best, theres no way you can come back several weeks early and play to the best of your ability so we'lll be relying on owen getting fit. Without them its hard to see where we are getting a goal or two and with a worldclass defence like ours well...... Then again Shola's done it before.
  15. I seriously hope this isnt true. He'll go down in my estimations if he is sueing. It's obvious that he wouldnt be sueing Ashley and only sueing the club. As the article says by the time the compensation and court case does come through the new owners will be paying it, thats if we have any by that time. If he's sueing he's not screwing ashley over, he's screwing the club and fans he apparently loves.
  16. I'm from Ashington about 15 miles north of Newcastle. Birthplace of Jackie Milburn and the Chrlton brothers. :colo:
  17. I've been dissapointed with Emre. Since signing he has showed glimpses of sheer class but ultimatly has failed to deliver the goods. Injured far too much and hampered by poor form. Whenever I saw him play he seemed like he cared and would fight for the cause but he didnt seem like the creative type. He has never been a creative midfielder, he was always a tenacious little thing. I was delighted when he came, he was one of the best midfielders in the world when at Galatasary and I was hoping he could rekindle his form that saw him voted as one of the 100 greatest living footballers. Personally if I was Keegan i would have hung on to him as we now have a dangerous lack of depth in our squad. If Keegan did want to sell him why didnt he wait till after the euro's? Because the chances are Emre will go and have a great tournemant and we could have sold himfor more than we did to Fener. Does anyone know the fee? Anyway if Emre has gone we need to get replacements in and soon.
