If it's a choice between KPB and a new striker I'd take a new striker like. Even with Ben Arfa and KPB, we're still lacking someone to finish off the chances they'd create.

I'm currently in this camp. I'll believe it when the club confirm it. However, IF we do sign Arthur, I'll blow into Sewelly levels of excitement. Though for me and loan deal doesn't make much sense, especially looking it from Ashleys point of view. The fee we'd sign him for is low compared to his supposed talent. If he comes here and has a cracking season, then he'll return to Marseille who'll sell him to a club for a fee we couldn't afford to pay, if we sign him permanently and he has a cracking season, then Ashley would have the option to flog him for much more than we paid for him. Speculate to accumulate and all that.

No we wern't. We still largely struggled against what is poor poor opposition. We looked blunt up top and that's against a back 4 containing a 40 year old David Weir and Sasa f***ing Papac. Defensively we weren't fantastic either. I dont think you can take many positives out of this, especially considering our season starts in 7 days time. I must admit I'm worried. I have absolutely no faith in Ashley to spend some money on a much needed striker and I simply cant see our current crop of attackers getting the goals needed to keep us up. We were the best team by a mile in the first half man. And what did we have to show for it? Nowt. Aye, can't believe we missed out on those 3 points. He's knackered. That injury totally finished him. He's never been the same player since. He was quite a good player before that injury, a busy little forward who scored a few goals and generally made life difficult for centre halves.

I think the majoity would give credit where credits due. If he ran the football club properly, put a decent amount of money in this season enabling us to build a decent side, then I think folk would give him the credit he deserved. Sadly though, as of yet we've pretty much got nothing to give him credit for.

It's clear that he'll go to hoffenheim. We simply won't be able to match their 8m€ bid. It's not like marsielle would accept a loan offer over a cash bid when they need money for their own targets. IMO unless hughton can convince the powers that be to release the funds, this deal is dead in the water as far as were concerned.

Yeah, I'd much rather we were fleeced out of millions. We're not being fleeced out of millions though. Clearly, they've got a valuation on the player which we're looking for them to drop. If anyone's attempting to do any fleecing, it's us. Aye, but what are you expecting us to do? Negotiation doesn't really work when a club says "Right we want £8m..." and we go "Cash or cheque?" - you see how cheap you can get him, how much he's actually worth etc. There's no point to agreeing to their valuation immediately as chances are they've inflated it to get a bit of extra cash out of you. I suppose so. It's just the lack of faith I've got in this board that makes me think they're going to fuck it all up by trying to get him for a ridiculously low price.

what in the fact we paid 27M combined for michael owen and luque, where we could of bought 2 players for 10M that would of delivered a lot more than both them This looks like two down syndromes attempting to discuss football. Whats that got to do with anything?
