  1. Totally agree, great summation. Also hope I’m wrong too, fwiw.
  2. I don’t think the way the ballot is working out has done the atmosphere any favours.
  3. Was referring more to him being dropped on his head. I appreciate I’m in a minority on Howe.
  4. Cheers for the discussion this evening anyway. Always good to see how the other half live etc.
  5. I’m sorry that you clearly struggle with the concept of nuance, and other basic ideas.
  6. I’d be shocked if the club sacked him now. I worry that he’s taken us as far as he can, and that his success from a few seasons ago was the pinnacle. The club moving him on would be dependent on having a manager with more tactical nous available and ready, which I’m not sure is realistic right now. So no, Gandalf, sacking the manager does not immediately fix everything. But if the club truly, genuinely want to move to the top, then I’m not sure Howe can take us much higher than he already has and a succession plan should be started.
  7. And if we get beat 3-0, then it still won’t be okay to have any concerns in your book.

    Dan Burn

    Was excellent today.
  9. It’s perfectly valid to have long term concerns about the ability of the team to progress as it stands. Jesus can weep all he likes.
  10. Nothing about that is hysteria. It’s an observation. You may disagree with it, but calling it hysterical nonsense is, well, nonsense.
  11. Unfortunately, I think it's time for him to go. What he's done for the club has been transformative, but I don't think he's tactically astute enough to deliver us success. I think we run a risk of that transformation being undone if we begin to decline and the season drags on, with our star players going and the cohesion starting to come undone. Hard to admit, and depressing because I'd have loved him to be the one to bring us to the top.
  12. Think it's time for Howe to go, personally. He's not tactically good enough. I know people will come at me, but I don't believe he's a good enough manager to be challenging for Top Four every season.
  13. He doesn't know how to, I think that's become apparent.
  14. Absolutely. But we're 9th as it stands and we had a very favourable start to the season in terms of fixtures. Not gonna get any easier.
  15. If we scrape the top half, that's probably about fair. Unfortunately it'll mean the departure of some of our better players, which I suppose might open up some FFP space to rebuild. Entire situation was of course caused by FFP, which means it'll have done precisely what it was meant to do.
  16. Schar on 15th September was our last non-penalty, non-Barnes goal.
  17. We can't unlock any low blocks. Brighton don't play like this, but it's clear that teams have identified that we can't break it down.
  18. I said this during the game, the way we played out at times was really excellent, level-headed and calm.

    Will Osula

It was odd we brought Willock, then Longstaff and Livramento two minutes later. Why not triple sub and leave yourself the option of another sub later?
  20. I don't know enough about the intricacies and politics surrounding our transfer dealings. If Howe desperately wanted another senior striker, then he's been sold down the river. If he didn't, after the last season, he's just as culpable.
